Why because they made a logical statement?   A more stringent vetting process will not allow licensure to illegal immigrants.  That would remove 85% of the workforce on the backstretch.  You don't think this would negatively impact some trainers?

I don't know if you guys have been in a coma lately or what, but the country isn't deporting anyone any more. Too many potential voters to actually enforce our immigration laws. Not a single back side worker would be affected, period.

i think there is a very good chance of the bill passing before tuesday

for 2 reasons that are new

the old mayor did not have the influence to produce and override of his veto. meaning , the illinois senate will over ride the veto, thanks to emanuel.

the new mayor has pianted himself into a corner with thte teachers union, increasing thier working day by 15% without compensating them for the time increase. The teachers will strike. Violent crime is way out of control on the southside, the kids have to be in school, or they will roam the streets all night.
the mayor needs the casino money to fund the teachers contract, or they strike. the money will be prvided by the casino.

these 2 reasons force the position of the govenor, if he vetos and is overridden, he looses more than just this vote, he sees he is vulnerable on any legislation from that point forward. he cannot let an over ride of his veto be voted on, the senate will override.

this has to be done before the fall election, if a republican wins the white house, what does that do for the mayors power base and influence...

The reason for the shootings are; now it's a RICO crime to be gangbanger and thinning out the snitches.  This will settle down eventually.

Isn't the state of Illinois itself a RICO?  Cheesy

True. if you're not a criminal, in the misdemenaor felony sense of the word, you have a better chance to stay here.
Thery're deporting if you have a criminal record here or from where you came from.  INS has deportd more illegals under Obama than under the other guy who had a couple of terms chance to do so, period.  I can't figure out why conservatives like/idolize/worship Reagan. Seriously. It's some sort of scam.  he granted amnesty to illegals, cut and ran in Lebanon, ballooned the budget. Raised Social Security taxes to strengthen Social Security.  He's a conservative's nightmare. Go figure.  I sure like his position on Social Security though.  It's time to tone down the wet dream fantasy error talk over cuts and to pump up the volume on strengthening Social Security, rather.

" I can't figure out why conservatives like/idolize/worship Reagan."

Uhh, because he got us out of the Carter doldrums, and the job market for folks in my line of work (and many others) was unbelievably good during his second term.

getting licensed and getting deported are two separate things.  Not even related.
