If you're going to play a ticket like that, I would say you're best served by playing multiple tickets built off a couple locks.  You can go deeper in the other races, but you'll have to be right on at least one of your locks...

Best,

EW, I can only find one lock on the card!!! can you find any others?? I have hit a few pic 6's in my career and have gotten burned on a few, the ones I got burned on I was talked into cutting down the original ticket and play multiple cheaper ones!!! It doesnt work!!!

I 've been looking at the pik 9 it looks super tough , but then I have'nt watch these horses run much . some kind of a way you need 3 singles ! and that looks pretty hard even the conley horse should improve big time with the millers taking over and looks like a single , you still have to worry big time , moneyball looks like a horse to me ! I guess I'll have to look at some replays and make some kind of bet . the 4th 7th 8th 10th are the races to review . maybe I can find 2 singles out of those races . then there's a chance . good luck to everyone who plays .        RTP

I had a thought on the Pick 9...does anyone think it's unwise to splash big in the early stages of a week where an Owen "Orange" Julius can ruin you at 70/1, or is it too big a gamble to hope the kitty is still big on the weekend ?  With proper throwouts on Saturday night (both drivers and horses), you can whittle the ticket down and save the "ALL" button a little better, but maybe you'll have less singles to work with.  TC

TC

Believe it or not more pk9's have been hit on Sundays and Tuesdays but it has been on very chalky nights.  I think Owen's horse was useable and would have been 5 or 6-1 with someone else driving.  He alone accounted for the hugh odds.

Good point swoodall.  I think there are more solids (possible singles) and "reachable" drivers in the NW-X or overnight trots than on a high claimer/condition w/e.  It's all about predicting where that "price" could land... TC

Which is exactly why I buy into the split ticket philosophy on a bet like this -- as long as ALL the bombs don't come, you have much more coverage than you can generate from one ticket.
