Hi Everyone,

I have an Autographed Harness Racing Whip up on eBay.  The whip was signed by 10 drivers yesterday on Super Stakes Sunday at Harrah's Philadelphia Racetrack.  All proceeds from this Auction will go to the Standardbred Retirement Foundation.

I ran the same auction last year and this Forum was one of the main reasons it did so well!  My hope is that it can be just as successful this year and that we can help out as many horses as possible!

Here is the link to the auction:

Thanks!

Bump!

I have just been informed that there is another "Forum" out there where there may be some "question" as to the validity of the autographs on the whip.  The whip IS autographed by ALL 10 drivers I listed.  There is no certificate of authenticity with this whip.  I had it signed yesterday afternoon at Harrah's Philadelphia during a PUBLIC Autograph Session before the races started.  Please feel free to get in contact with any of the 10 drivers who signed it and ask them if they signed it.  I even told each and every driver there what they were signing it for.

Also, I ran this same auction last year, and you can contact Dana Letual at the Standardbred Retirement Foundation (adoptahorse.org) OR Mike Tanner, the VP at the US Trotting Association who can verify the authenticity of these auctions.  As a matter of fact, Mike and the USTA were kind enough to MATCH the proceeds and send them directly to the SRF last year.

Furthermore, I have an exchange of emails that I kept from last year from a previous buyer (from the "Forum" in question) who backed out from buying the whip who is now spewing lies about what happened.  This will CERTAINLY clear up any question or confusion about what happened, if need be.

I guess everything in life has to have a little controversy!

I just can't understand why anyone would want to interfere with or make up lies and try to stop a charity from receiving money.  We live in a sad world.

Anyway, thanks for your bids!

considering the source is a total tool bag i wouldnt get the least bit ruffled over it.  hopefully he doesnt have a complete "attention fit" like last year and bid again....but i bet he does cause some peeps just simply need drama to funtion...
that is the sad part

Possibly a picture of each driver signing the whip would be a nice touch.

No need to actually create a print(s).............just send them to the winner in an email.

Alright let me get my two cents in! JJ don't bother checking your email, Janine thank you.

I was there yesterday as this whip was passed amongst the driver's. I was there before the signing started and was there when it finished. I myself went up to the table 4 times to get the items I brought to get signed. I don't disrespect the others in line with trying to get 30+ items all signed at one time. Supertoy7's whip along with the program & 8 1/2 x 11 are without a doubt 100% authentic. The whip that supertoy7 sold last year was without a doubt 100% authentic.
I've been collecting Harness Racing autographs for well over 30 years, I know what I'm talking about.
I had to laugh about the Certificate of Authenticity comments made from the other site. Anyone who knows anything about autographs knows that COA's mean very little to nothing. Do they honestly think PSA - DNA would be able to authenticate these Harness Racing autographs? I'd love to see what examplars PSA DNA has regarding Harness Racing. My guess they would probable have to google it to find out what it was. I know of only two people in this country with extensive Harness Racing autograph collections and I'm one, the other is nobody's business.
It's sad that certain individuals have a need to cast doubt on this. Could it be a vendetta from the fiasco one of them caused on last years whip?

Harry Lare

I was pleasantly surprised that Dan Dube came to the signing. I've only gotten him to sign for me multiple items one time at Tioga when he won the Bettor's Delight with Bettor Sweet. Dan Dube at times is very elusive to say the least. Chatting it up? Dan for the most part don't say much which I believe and only speculation he doesn't feel comfortable with the french canadian/ english language. Like I said only speculation as he seems like a really nice guy. LaChance I can say is very cordially and is a signing machine, really nice guy. Campbell a perfect gentleman and will sign anything put in front of him. Jody another cool dude is at most or all signings. Jody did surprise me not being there but who knows why. I'm going to crucify the guy? Absolutely not! I'll see him at Vernon next Sunday. You had 10 driver's signing at Chester! What's better than that?
Chester did a great job with the signing and the 6+ hours round trip was well worth it.
Already marked on my calendar next year.

It is a shame that we even need to discuss the scam bro's in the same topic as the authentic Standardbred Retirement Foundation and a person trying to help them with a few dollars via auction.

I won the last auction and I received the whip not soon after.  I will donate the whip back to you if you will auction it back off for the Retirement Foundation.  It is still in package from shipping.

I've been privileged to meet a few BTWers in person including Donna, James and Dennis from this thread.  Dennis (Supertoy) has been a friend for a long time.  I've never met a more genuinely nice or honest person in my life.  He loves harness racing and has actually DONE something to make it better.

Way to go, Dennis!

Thanks to everyone for the positive remarks!  And thank you for the bids so far!  And also thank you to Donna for graciously donating the original autographed whip back for a good cause!  I will auction that one off after this current auction ends.

Thanks!  Smiley
