This is a horrible story/situation which defines what happens when liberals are in charge. Using the slots $$ that was earmarked for the horse racing industry to finance healthcare so they can support the people that milk the system is a disgrace.

I am no defender of the Ontario Fiberals, but if Hudak were in charge, I'm sure he'd have had to do the same thing.  Ontario is 16 billion in the hole.

Tell that to the 5,000,000 students and young people under the age of 25 who now receive health care and checkups under their parents plan.

Don't know about Canada but here, in the U.S., and through 2019, 50% of our tea-party infused Congressional budget deficit will go to pay down a) the Iraq War and b) finance irresponsible Bushonian tax-cuts. This is unacceptable.

And, if you supported the war with it's concurrent overwhelming expensive privatization of the military, you have no right to criticize.

Currently, there are an estimated $21 trillion in taxable resources hidden off-shore.  Ask Mitt Romney to release his tax returns to see what his real tax rate actually is. He says he is worth $250 million, but we really don't know, truly he could be worth $1 billion. His returns need to be made public according to precedent which father established when he ran for President, for god's sake.

Don't compromise the nation's health, stop balancing the budget on the backs of the poor and middle class to finance irresponsible tax-cuts and out-of-control privatized military spending, tantamount to welfare for the ultra-wealthy and well-off.  It is no longer acceptable.

But the story's about Canada-land, and specifically Ontario, 867... I enjoy a good rant and commend you on this one, but that stuff has nothing to do with Canada.

I normally don't talk politics on horse racing forums but it seems sometimes a reminder is needed and that is it was the private sector that destroyed our economy. It was the private sector that needed to be bailed out.

"...When the recession started, the Transportation Department had only one person earning a salary of $170,000 or more. Eighteen months later, 1,690 employees had salaries above $170,000.

The trend to six-figure salaries is occurring throughout the federal government, in agencies big and small, high-tech and low-tech. The primary cause: substantial pay raises and new salary rules..."

LOL.  You have to include the STATES.
Country-wide, Government spending as a % of GDP is at it's lowest level since the 1950's.

Once more, again.  Government spending, as a percentage of GDP, is at it's lowest level since the 50's.

Red state governors, with the help of their conservative legislatures, have legislated deep cuts, literally creating austerity budgets.  These budgets are responsible for substantial public sector layoffs and spending cuts which cramp our economic recovery.

RT, in case you haven't seen this article, it's very interesting regarding the "lost decade":

Those numbers you presented are "guestimated" by that web site, U.S Government.com. Look at the data sources.

Bla bla bla... of course they are estimated, given that, um, 2012 ain't over yet. Iin the meantime, you haven't provided one shred of evidence to support a proposition you appear to have made up out of whole cloth.

Anything past 2009, they've guesstimated.  The numbers are bogus.  It's a bullshit projection designed to hoodwink smart, socialized guys like you.   Wink

Glad to clear that up for you.  The data sources they use aren't real, they're "guesstimated".  Anything after 2009 they've made up.

Maybe some higher power can step in to save these poor animals.  I am very ashamed, since all I can do personally for them is pray.

The pathetic part about asking for welfare, besides the part about not being able to support yourself, is that you dont control when it's taken away

You can't have a recovery with runaway debt or the country will end up like Illinois and California.
