Sorry for the mistake. You're a loser... Better? Proper grammar on forums matter only to a sissy.

You mean "you're", don't you?

I specifically asked "What's missing?" of you a few days ago, and you ignored my query, instead electing to reiterate what we've already understood you to have said.  Nobody's going to agree on their preference of racecaller--it's all subjective--but show some respect.  We're humans too.

I said you improved. Sorry your feelings got hurt. My opinion is just that. If you are humble then my comments aren't (i'm getting the hang of this) offensive.  Smiley

Just curious james? Where do you rate yourself as an announcer? Top3? Best in the game 2day? Best of all-time?

my opinion, nobody is better than Larry Lederman, anyone that can call a horse packing it in like a local major sports team imploding late in the game, mix in the price of gasoline going up or make Freehold racing sound extremely interesting gets my vote

Larry towers over the field. Its him and everyone else, and that includes both games---of course hes great at the t-breds as well calling Parx, AC for a week and was tremendous at the ill fated Garden State. And yes Harry, he can actually make Freehold very interesting but he knows the deal there. Amazing its still open

Absolutely---About 30 as we speak. Was formerly a stand up comedian, so you see where that comes from. But he is a student of both games and knows the history going way back-----that all helps.

He doesnt make mistakes and never blows a photo---and has a great voice for the job. Hopefully the health issue is resolved. Praying for that

As for James, I met him at the first meet ---not sure of the year.Seems like 5 years already.  He's improved a lot and I think he does a real good job. But that track is tough to bet. I think when Juice said "dump", he meant it as in "unbettable." The track itself is in a great location and you are right on top of the action. Its got a different feel than all the others. Of course the neighborhood can use some upgrading  sneaky

James has the unenviable task of trying to make the Chester races innaresting after the horse who was 2-1 leaving the gate and 4/5 at the quarter pole retakes his easy lead at the 3/8's, after which absolutely nothing will happen, save for the 21-1 first-over making a brief move to get into the same zip code as the leader at the 5/8's, after which he "levels off", leaving the 6-1 shot gapping in the pocket to fight off the 5/2 thing (always driven by Andy Miller) coming from a backed-up second-over.  Sad

Spider, not a fair question, if you ask me.  As far as the best ever: Greg Miles, Robert Geller, Luke Kruytbosch, Phil Georgeff, Tom Durkin, Trevor Denman come to mind.  Larry Lederman is as sharp as they come--both in terms of his wit and picking up horses.  Not to mention a good guy all round.  It's not fair to compare myself to others (except in terms of maybe learning from other's strengths/weaknesses/tendencies and applying them to my own work), but I'm happiest when I can feel I've achieved perfection in a race call.  Hardly a race goes by where I can't find something in my call to improve on, minuscule as it may be (further vs. farther, bad margin, redundancy, not descriptive enough in terms of how much pace a horse might have, etc.).

Certainly much better than the Pocono guy.  That webcast is so awful I just mute it.  Maybe Jack Lee really did have a legitimate gripe against George Anthony.   Cheesy

HH Good call but only James Witherite can fit "coming to the half for the Juice Junkies fan club" in to a call
