Friday, May 25, 2012
(Program odds in parentheses)
4 - MYSTICAL BROTHERS (5/2) ***Winner: $3.40 $2.40 $2.20***
Looks like a good spot for this Erv Miller trainee's 2012 debut. Competed with some tough two-year olds last year. Latest qualifier in 1:55.3 indicates he might be ready to rock right out of the box.
2 - FLIP (3/1)
Had everything his own way on the front end last week when he broke his maiden. Will seek early lead and looks to be the main challenger to the above.
8 - CLASSIFIED INFO (15/1)
Faces easier, poor post. Does show speed in lines. Might blast from here and hope for best. Winning appears unlikely, but is a gimmick possibility.
1 - FOX VALLEY HOTSTUF (6/1)
Makes 2012 debut. Rail position should keep him close. Might get a share.
3 - DAN LOWE (4/1)

Having a hard time with the turns. Need to see some improvement before investing.
6 - FIRST FLIGHT IN (8/1)
Beat soft claiming company last time out. Looks overmatched.

Makes 2012 debut. Nothing much to go on from SPR qualifier. Watch for now.
6 - SMOOTH TRANSITION (5/2)
Qualified strongly for his 2012 debut. Gets Oosting. Appears to want the lead. Does not have the toughest field to beat. Could open up daylight on these.
7 - OMAHA SURVIVOR (7/2)
Looks like the main threat to the above. Also had a nice qualifier. Harmer barn has good stats with layoffs. Looks like the bottom half of the exacta.
3 - MAKE IT WORK (6/1)
Takes on easier here, but will need to work harder to hit the ticket. Can show speed.
1 - BELL VALLEY BILL (8/1)
Recent form sort of dull. Rail will keep him in contention.

5 - WES MANTOOTH (12/1)
Form tailing off. Appears overmatched.
4 - WESTERN SIGN (9/2)
Taking a shot with this guy in a fairly open race. Looks like he is rounding into form with each of his three BMP races since returning from a layoff. Shows speed in his lines. Expecting him to blast and could be tough to collar.
1 - MOSES HANOVER (7/2)
Thrice beaten favorite figures to be in the mix again. Will be on the lead or in the two-hole.
7 - ROYAL MAN (10/1)
Won the last time he raced on this track. Might be in position to pick up pieces if hot pace develops.
3 - CELTIC SEELSTER (3/1)
Likes to show speed. Has hit the board in 11 of 15 races this year. Must use in gimmicks.
2 - JILLIBY GENERATOR (6/1)
Has not won in forever. Showed some life in qualifier. Outside shot at a slice.
5 - KB'S TAYLOR (8/1)
Last couple have been disappointing. Gets Oosting and might show some improvement.
6 - J V'S BAD BOY (15/1)
Shows speed, but has not held off a field in some time. Tough task from here.

Pulled off the upset last time out against a soft group. Will need more to repeat.
6 - TICKT OFF (9/5)
Has not raced since 5/9, but have respect for Seekman. If ready, this guy could roll past these late.
4 - ACE'S Z TAM (5/2)
Went off-stride at the start last time out and lost all chance. Tossed big hints in previous races. Can be right there with a flat mile.
5 - JACK N WATER (8/1)
Shown improvement in each of his three starts this year. Could hit the ticket if the upswing continues.
7 - ARIZONA STRAITTALK (15/1)
Had all sorts of problems last week. Broke and was parked the mile. Prior races were encouraging. Tough post, but cannot completely rule out.
1 - CJ'S REAL DEAL (6/1)
Winless in 15 starts, but has hit the board his last two races. Rail keeps him close.
3 - NJ'S GO JOHNNY GO (4/1)
Winless in 17 starts. Hits the board at times. Gimmick hopeful.

Makes lifetime debut. Slow qualifier. Let's watch one.
8 - HEARTLAND LIBERTY (12/1)
Tough spot for his first lifetime start. Watch for now.
2 - CHALLENGE MY HEART (6/1)
Fits very well here. Gobbled up a bunch of ground last time out to narrowly miss. Should have good position from here. Chance to pick up second win of the year, maybe at a good price.
9 - THEDAYYOUHAVEMADE (12/1)
Faced some tough winners and has drawn poorly in recent weeks. Looks like a much better spot for this one. Will be in the fray.
1 - ARIZONA TALES (3/1)
Oosting and the rail are a solid combo. Should be in the mix throughout.
5 - FREAKN FRIDAY (9/2)
Showed a little late burst last week. Might be rounding into form.
7 - CANDY N APPLES (12/1)
Showed some life last time out against a tough winner. Can show speed and could be a major threat against this field.
3 - ANDI ROSE (7/2)
Recent form is dull and loss of Oosting hurts. Pass for now.
4 - CAM SUNDAY (8/1)
Has not won in ages. Auto-toss.
6 - SIX PACK ANNIE (15/1)
Rarely win. Poor form. Toss.
8 - IM A SALLY SUE (15/1)
Dull form. Tough post. Toss.
8 - T E'S ZENYATTA (9/2) ***Winner: $24.00 $8.80 $4.60***
Showed speed a few nights ago in a stakes race at BMP. Quick turnaround here, but she figures to be a strong player against this group. Could blast and be tough to catch.
5 - ARTS-ROCKSTAR (2/1)
Makes 2012 debut. Was involved in a pretty quick qualifier. Kept good company last year. Fits with these if she does not need a race.
6 - PLACE'N FIRST (7/2)
Already has five wins in eight starts this year. Is in sharp form and will likely seek the lead or two-hole. Hard to dismiss.
7 - STARDOM BOUND (8/1)
Has not been too far off lately. Needs live cover from this spot. Hitting the ticket not completely out of the question.
3 - DAWN BY THE RIVER (12/1)
Invades from HAR after a nice win. Marcus in the bike. Looks like a decent fit.
1 - GRACYMAY INTERLUDE (12/1)
HOP invader draws well, but has not been competitive in recent starts. Rail might keep her close.
2 - AMARETTO ROSE (15/1)
Another invader that has not done much in recent races. Figures to need a race.
4 - FOX VALLEY LILAC (6/1)
Rarely wins. Form rather dull. Pass for now.
4 - GAR (5/2) ***Winner: $2.80 $2.40 $2.10***
BMP shipper been showing speed. Could be on the front and will be hard to run down.
7 - M M WEST (7/2)
Going back and forth between Conley and Accardo barns. Horse is always a factor at this level. Will have to work hard for the lead from out here.
2 - FOX VALLEY SEE YA (12/1)
Been racing well in recent weeks. Does not show much early foot. Might try to shoot through the open stretch. Could hit the ticket.
3 - OUR SECOND CHANCE (9/2)
Chased some tough four claimers in last few. Fits very well with these. Can get there with the right trip.
5 - WOODY'S SHARK BITE (8/1)
Shows speed, but has not held off a field this year. Will need to work hard for the win, but might hang around for a slice.
6 - DARN SKIPPIE (10/1)
Gets close at times. Needs a big effort to hit the board.
1 - JUST US (15/1)
Winless in 14 tries on the year. Form looks dull.
8 - THE JANITOR (12/1)
Form looks like it's tailing off. Pass from out here.
9 - MR MIGHTY MARC (15/1)
Returns after a layoff. Probably needs a start.
7 - THISWAYORTHEHIGHWY (3/1) ***Winner: $11.80 $5.80 $3.20***
Don't like seeing that he was scratched sick from his start last week at HOP, but I was impressed the last time he raced here. If he's ready, he should not have much trouble with this group.
6 - LITTLE RICKY (6/1)
Been very impressive winning back to back races on this oval. Showing a nice quarter move. Watch for similar tactics. Could be good enough if the #7 is short. Looks like a two horse race.
1 - YANKEE DOODLE JIM (2/1)
In line for another good trip. Should sit right behind the leaders. Can get a share.
4 - SHOTGUN BOB (8/1)
Scratched sick last week. Prior races encouraging. Can hit the board if ready.
8 - REVY REVRAC (4/1)
Has not raced since 5/4. Tough spot from here. Dull form. Pass.

Struggling against claimers. Toss.
3 - C R JACKPOT (15/1)
Recent form is dull. Needs more.
5 - WESTERN BEAR (20/1)
Struggling against claiming company. Toss.
3 - WINDSUN MONTECARLO (3/1) ***Winner: $3.60 $2.60 $2.10; 3-5 Exacta: $14.40***
Closed like a freight train last weekend at BMP to just miss. Looks to be in a great spot here. Oosting has done very well with her in the past. Just needs some clear sailing and she should roll by these.
5 - BLAZING FURY (5/2)
Figures to be the main contender to the above. Road trouble from the eight post cost her last week. Perhaps she'll blast out for the front from here. Rates very highly in this spot.
6 - JOKERSLITLWHITELIE (15/1)
Not a bad effort in a needed start last week, closing ground in a fast second half. It all comes down to the trip and pace. IF we can get a hot pace and live cover, she looks to have the late punch to roll by some of these at big odds.
8 - MYSTICOLE MAGGIE (10/1)
Classy mare makes debut for Roberts barn. Fits well and I am curious to see how she does for Roberts. Post will be tough to overcome, but will watch her closely.
1 - VIP FILLY (7/2)
Wired another field last week. Much tougher test here, but the rail will keep her in the mix. Doubt she knocks these off, but could get a piece of this.
2 - TAMARAC SASSY (6/1)
Parlayed a perfect trip into a second place finish. Fits once again and will probably try to rocket down the open stretch. Will break through one of these nights.
4 - NOTJUSTAPRETTYFACE (8/1)
Racing very well right now. Needs to get brought up to have a shot. Should find a live outer flow. Cannot rule out.
7 - THIRD EASY HOTSPUR (12/1)
Second best to the #1 last week. Will need much more to beat these from out here.
2 - LAZY LIZARD (5/2) ***Winner: $2.60 $2.10 $2.10; 2-7 Exacta: $23.80; 2-7-6 Tri: $119.30; 2-7-6-1 $1 Super: $181.60 ***
Been taking on much tougher last few weeks. Fits nicely here. Should seek early spot. Has winning habit. Will be extremely tough to beat.
7 - SHARK WAVES (12/1)
Chased a tough winner last week. Horse was a monster here earlier in the year. Also likes to win and will be a factor here.
6 - KB'S ROBBY (6/1)
Wired an easier field last time out. Figures to show speed once again. No surprise to see him hit the ticket.
1 - SLEAZY MR E (3/1)
Was facing a bit tougher in last two. Faces easier and draws well. Should save ground and get a piece of this.
5 - GEORGE'S ZTAM (8/1)
Shows speed at times. Could get an early spot and is hard to rule out. Could share.
3 - LARRY'S PLACE (9/2)
Form tailing off. Needs more to contend with these.
4 - COLTINS PLACE (30/1)
Has not been all that competitive recently. Pass for now.
8 - AMERICAN GOLD (20/1)
Makes 2012 debut. Showed some speed in qualifier. Probably needs a race.
9 - ALLAMERICAN BOMBER (15/1)
Last three races on the dull side. Needs to show more. Pass.
3 - DELCO WILLOBEE (3/1) ***Winner: $6.00 $3.00 $2.80***
Was much the best last week. Takes on a couple tough customers tonight. Should get lead or two hole from here. Like his chances to handle the class hike.
6 - RAGING CAM (7/2)
Dominated an easier bunch last week. Looks like the main contender to the above. Seems to always bring a big effort. Like that 3-6 exacta box.
4 - ICE MAN COMET'H (5/2)
Has speed to burn and will have a big say in this. He'll have his hands full with the #3 to his inside and #6 on his outside. Cannot rule him out.
7 - WINORDIETRYING (12/1)
Gained ground in a fast second half in a start he figured to need. Could build off that race and be more of a factor in here. Has the class to go with these.
2 - JUDSON DIRECTOR (6/1)
Often a factor with this kind. Should have good position and could sneak a share of this.
1 - PICASSOS BOY (8/1)
Rail and Roberts should keep him in contention. Looks a tad overmatched against these.
5 - DADE HALL (20/1)
Was not much of a factor last week at this level from the rail. Will need much more from here.
8 - TURN IT UP LOUD (15/1)
Has not been too far off lately, but is facing a tough challenge from here.
6 - MY BOY LUKE (10/1)
Makes 2012 debut. Most recent qualifier indicates he might be ready to roll. Trainer Cox has good percentage after layoff and with class droppers. Competed with some toughies last year. Willing to take a shot here as the price should be right.
5 - COLEFEDERATE (6/1)
Has been sharp for weeks. Figures to fire out for the lead and will be tough to catch. Oosting/Millman combo as good as it gets.
8 - ANESCAPE N (8/1)
Keeps getting close and keeps finding ways to lose. Sure fits at this level. With live cover, he should be in the mix.
4 - PAPA BRIAN (5/2)
Was overmatched last week. In a better spot tonight. Might try for a good early spot. Can compete with this group.
9 - SWEEET TALKIN TOM (7/2)
Been a tiger against cheaper. Takes on some rough foes here, but he is on the top of his game. Horse, trainer, driver all with solid winning percentages. Hard to rule out.
1 - FOX VALLEY LIBERO (9/2)
Roberts and the rail always a good combo. Should be in contention throughout. One of many that can get a part of this with things go their way.
2 - CINNAMON SPIDER (20/1)
Touted the Spider a few times only to be disappointed. Was not much of a factor last week. Need to see some improvement before endorsing.
3 - INNOVATION (15/1)
Was not much of a factor last week at this level. Looks overmatched here.
7 - SIGN THE PRENUP (12/1)
Was not a factor last week. Oosting chose #5 over him. Tough spot from here. Pass for now.
3 - MISS KELLEY LYNNE (12/1)
Makes second start off layoff. More importantly switches from Finn to Oosting. Horse likes to win, especially on this oval, where she has 5 wins in 11 lifetime starts here. The 12/1 program odds look mighty tasty here.
1 - LOOKER HOTSPUR (4/1)
Gets major post relief, moving from the eight post to the rail. Raced very well last week, closing ground on the leaders in a quick second half. Should have better position tonight. Major contender.
2 - PICKAPLACETOPARK (6/1)
Winless in 13 tries this year, but has been tossing hints lately. Figures to be in the hunt from here and should be part of this.
8 - JUST SHUTUP NDRIVE (8/1)
Will need a hot pace to close into. Might get it. Tough task, but not impossible.
5 - TILLYFILLY (3/1)
Blasted from the eight post last time and was used hard to get the lead before fading. Has speed inside of her, so getting to the top won't be easy. Tough spot, but is capable.
4 - SPORTAMANTE (5/2)
Typically fires out in a hurry, but has not had much left in the late going in her last two tries. Looks like she's tailing off. Pass for now.
7 - LANGTREE LILY (15/1)
Excuses in last couple, but she has not won in forever. Tough spot here. Pass.
6 - BUFFY THE SLAYER (15/1)
Dismal recent form. Toss.
1 - PECK BLUE CHIP (3/1)
Was a non factor in his last race against tough HOP foes. Came flying down the stretch to win the last time he raced here. Much respect for Seekman barn. Rail doesn't hurt. Has some speed and can take the two hole or try to wire them. Solid chance at taking the nightcap.
9 - PRIME ESCAPE (5/1)
Finished third last week to the monster, Raging Cam. Made a bold move in that race before flattening out. Looks like a good fit here and should sit right behind the #1. Will be ready to pounce in the lane. Contender.
2 - NATURAL LAD N (7/2)
Has some speed and with the inside post, figures strongly here. Hard to rule out.
3 - POLAR BEAR (9/2)
Back to back clunker races for this guy. Need to see some forward progress before endorsing.
6 - LETSGETREADYTRUMBL (15/1)
Finished a distant third to a tough winner last week. Touted this guy a few times and there is some merit in his lines. Looks like he'll need the perfect set-up to get a win. Hot pace, good cover, well-timed move, etc. Not likely, but not impossible either.
7 - ZELLER'S ISLAND (8/1)
Made a move last week only to flatten out as the favorite against softer. Return of Oosting helps. Needs a good early spot for any chance.
4 - JOEZEHRLOVESJOHNNY (12/1)
Form is dull. Rarely wins. Toss.
5 - MARIE'S JATE (20/1)
Makes his first start since January. Didn't see much in the qualifier. Let's give him a race.
8 - SECURED RISK (15/1)
Makes first start since 2008! Was a solid racehorse then. Obviously there have been some issues here, but he did qualify well and has four lifetime wins on this track. But, with the poor draw, let's give him a start.
MYSTICAL BROTHERS (1st race) - Won: $***Winner: $3.40 $2.40 $2.20***
SMOOTH TRANSITION (2nd race) - Finished second
PECK BLUE CHIP (14th race) - Finished ninth

MY BOY LUKE (12th race) - Finished eighth
MISS KELLEY LYNNE (13th race) - Finished fourth
