Big Names Skip Somebeachsomewhere
May 23

Neither Sweet Lou or A Rocknroll Dance will be including the Somebeachsomewhere Stake on their respective dance cards.

"Lou will race at The Meadows in another Pennsylvania Sires Stake," confirmed trainer Ron Burke.

Sweet Lou winning his 2012 debut last weekend at Pocono.

"If he wins that would qualify him for the final and also means one less ship for us this year. It's a management tool for him but we'll be at the North America Cup for sure."

Jim Mulinix also confirmed that A Rocknroll Dance will be racing in the $150,000 New Jersey Sires Stake final on June 2 instead of shipping to Mohawk Racetrack.

That Rocknroll Hanover son won his NJSS last weekend in 1:50.1. That was his first start of the season for owners Mulinix, Denny Miller and Jerry and Theresa Silva.

Burke did not miss an opportunity to express his pleasure with Sweet Lou's progress which included a 1:49.3 winning effort in his first appearance of the year.

"I could not be happier, he is ready to do whatever it is he has to do this year. But because he finished off so strongly last fall it gave us great hope for this season and right now it all looks very good."

The three-year-old Yankee Cruiser son is co-owned by Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi, Lawrence Karr and Phillip Collura and has lifetime winnings of $741,000 to date.
