I see great things in the future for this colt It's great to see a humble guy like Paisley and his daughter get one like this at his age.

Great things? really? He's only gotta drop 4+ seconds to be considered a stakes colt

The way he was driven last night he could have won at will at any point. Marcus kept him out of trouble as he leader looked good on the lead, once he was let go he exploded home. Looks like he will make a lot money.

Great things? really? He's only gotta drop 4+ seconds to be considered a stakes colt i dont know who you are and i rarely deny anyone an opinion, but if you don't see this is a special colt, you dont know much about horses or what youre lookin at. theyve taught this colt the correct thing, come off the gate, relax, follow cover and sprint to the wire. if this colt was raced at the meadowlands and the half went in 56 or 57 he'd trot in 54 or 55 right now. bye the way, the hambo is at the meadowlands and that's not out of the question right now....and he's eligible. he needs to stay sound and some luck but he could be a top top colt

When he whips up on 'em in .53 I'll agree he is special. I won't specualte on miles ha has not yet gone. I leave that to others.

he's had 5 lifetime starts. walt lives in ill. the colt is ill. bred and eligible fot ill. bred races. goes for 40k in 2 weeks. where and in what races would a genious like you race him do you think paisley knows a few things about race horses ? if he keeps going, and if he stays sound, he's got the american national and a few other big money stakes and then if he's good enough (and he may be) the hambo in august.

calm down all you Windy City sensitive types
my point was --if the horse was considered "good" --he wouldnt be racing @ Balmoral--he would have been sent east to a real trainer for a real campaign vs other east coast horses
that fact that he is an Illinois bred killed those chances before the horse was born
sorry--if you have a good horse--you dont race @ Balmoral for $6k purses--Grand Circuit stuff is another story--but those purses @ Maywood and Balmoral wont even pay your feed bill

Riccolo is a very nice and very well bred horse not because of sire but the dam has some interesting breeding. Walter so far on the caution side with his horse after a injury last year. Seems to be fine always the next day or two after the race. As far as dropping 3 seconds he trotted last week in 56.1 not sure any 3 yr colts are racing in 53.1 yet been watching the PA circuit since I have a 3 yr old colt racing out there and will be sire stake race at Chester next Friday. We will get a gauge on were there are time wise. Right he won't have to prove much here in Illinois because there are very few good Ill trotters so fractions will be soft and Riccolo will win majority of those races as long as he is sound. He is a good colt and if Walter paid the May payment for the Hambo we might see how much of a good colt he really is.

How fast do you want this 3 yr old to trot in he was hurt in his 3rd start at 1-5 at 2 after trotting in 58.3 second time out. After 3 starts this year in 56.1 and 57.1 nice last quarters coming home off the pace I would take him in a second.

so far we have seen Googoogaagaa do a 53.3 mile on the 5/8ths and the Simpson is this weekend
most of the top Hambletoian intended trotters dont race until the NJSS races or NYSS in late May , early June--so here ont he east coast there arent nay 3yo trot events available--unless you wanna face older just to get races in
i said nothing disparaging about the times--just about where he is racing--i am well aware that midwestern connections like the Ackermans usually have a Hambletonian prospect almost yearly
but if you are this good--you dont start racing in March or April

he's had a total of 5 lifetime races. he's won 2 12k purses in a breeze. in 2 weeks he's got a 40k final for ill breds in which he'll go off at 2/5. if he wins that he will have almost 40k on his card with great learning and seasoning. he's being taught to race the right way. as i said, a little break then the bigger stakes in ill, then IF AND ONLY IF he stays together and cotinues to improve, the hambo is a very real possibility

As Zoot said coldpunch he is racing in March and April because of being lightly raced last year due to injury. Also you are right the 3 yr old will be out next week in PA. we will see how they are, checked out last year 3 yr old races during sires, and only one race at 3 different tracks of a total of 10 divisions went under 54. That does not count cons. or final which went above 54. Also looked at 2010 sire races and of the 15 races in those divisions only 2 races went under 54. With that said Check Me Out looks to be the star this year.

they couldn't fill an elimination foe 3yo trotting ill breds so they put together a race at balmoral wed night as a prep for ill bred final 40k the following week.
riccolo drew the 10 hole but should be very tuff on these
