After last week, it's tough to go against Ponder.  However, if you can get any price at all on Hop Sing...hmmm.

I think its pretty simple that after driving Ponder ONCE, Pierce knew this horse was better then Hop Sing! In the winners circle he raved about how much bigger and stronger the horse got. He just looked like a monster! Ive been a big fan of Casimir Camotion but think Ponder might just be a standout! Ill take Ponder on top of Casimir Camotion, Jenna's Choice, MyPanmar, Hop Sing, and Leading X Ample!

I like ponder also and I think he may be around 4-1 . This horse battled and beat top company  last year. I hope he doesn't get shuffled though.

He could be , But I'll stick to my pick at 4-1 . The betters sure love sears's horse and hop sing and c commotion.  I just looked at the odds and i'm a bit surprised that he's 2-1 ml .

I would assume you'll see a price around 8/5?

No way that's even remotely interesting to me (as I can see him getting that Big M Shuffle, like someone mentioned already), but that's about where I see his price falling.

BTW- on Quality Western, was he sold again after the Big M Mixed Sale?  The press release says that he was purchased in April...

Best,

idealtowne, cmon. 4-1 on Ponder. Now is Jeffrey Dauplause is on him, yeah I could see 4-1.
Have you seen his last 2 races?
He will be between 6/5 and 9/5.
I like Hop Sing. I always bet against the favorite.
Casimir Camotion always seems to come up giant in big races and Georgia Pacific is getting there.
Good luck to all.

Well , I looked at the field without the ML odds listed and seen the field was solid and filled up. So  I figured him around  4-1 post time. As I said before i'm surprised that he's 2-1 ml. I don't bet on a horse just because they had a strong race. Hop sing has been a rock solid all year jennas coice ,commotion and quality western are nice horses also. That powerhouse race by ponder was last week and the above horses are all capable of a huge mile also. And If my memory is correct ponder is a horse  that always carried decent odds 5-1 or better on him  last year.

IMO, Mcintosh was just developing him last year.  He suffered from alot of bad posts and got good checks from those posts.  Anything even money or better is an overlay in this race.  His real competition this year will come from Boulder Creek once Silva's charge has a few under his belt.

Just one mans opinion.

As some have alluded to....the shuffle is the only way they beat him this weekend.

No disrespect taken.  He can get beat.  They all can.  I am just of the opinion that he beats THIS group from the rail at a 60% or better clip.  I'll take even money.  Hoping that I get it.

Good luck to you.

I am of full belief that Ponder could have gone a 1:49 and change here at Hazel if he was urged. I don't know if anybody had a chance to see that race, but that was the most powerful mile I have ever seen in my racing days. A 1:51 on this racetrack never urged or never touched in mindblowing. It's Ponder in the Graduate!!!

Man did I just put the kiss of death on him or what!!!

No Mike, the kiss of death would be putting Dave Magee up to drive him in a big money race.

That reminds me of a few weeks ago when Tony Morgan was on Hop Sing in the Dan Patch. I remember a lot of people on this forum saying Hop Sing was going to lose and Tony was going to stiff him, but I don't remember him losing or stiffing.

I'll bet those 23 people that he won for on Super Night completely agree with you.

I have to agree with you regardless of the price I think Ponder is clearly the horse to beat but as always in horse racing anything can and will happen!!!!

the best thing for PONDER is that Jackie MO isnt in the seat behind him.
Perfect Pierce Piloting will win it!!
