because the appeals were denied by the court.

Previously an NJ trainer had appeals tied up in court longer than four years (six comes to mind)

All of this is like being "a little late to the party."
There isn't much left with harness racing.
Yes, the purses are (slot) bloated.
Yes, some stables are making a fortune.
No, handle is not increasing, it's declining.
As for Freehold, there is nothing left there.
They handle 300K or less on the weekdays, and struggle to top 500K on Saturday with 12 or 13 races.
There are other crooked and cheating vets in Central Jersey but it no longer matters.
There is hardly any money left to steal..

So, there's an 'open window' at FHLD and someone's betting into the first turn?

Maybe he had some big pharmaceutical companies backing him. big money in race horse drugs these days.

I think he was the owner of Dingleberry stables.

Dr. Slender got caught and prosecuted for using EPO.  The cost of the EPO test was $2000 per horse and that was part of the penalty.
Three cheers to the NJ state police and the commission for catching and prosecuting them.
Great police work!
I suppose that if I was an investigator I would be hard at work identifying the rest of Slendors trainers.
