Just saw this e-mail on the yahoo harness list.

I didn't see it but I've been told that Steve Warrington, Hal Belote,
and Brad Hanners were involved in a huge wreck in the first race at
Harrington this afternoon.  Warrington was airlifted out and Hal Belote
may not make it.

This really must be serious. I've seen guys goes down and get badly injured-Lou Mellert died as a result of injuries sustained in a wreck at Northfield, but never seen a card cancelled.

Very classy move by Harrington.

...in light of the tragedy involving Mr. Belote, the post is non-comforting and hereby removed.   trotter  TC

I was watching the race live on Youbet.com and just check to see if the replay was up and it is.  Just watched it again. Horrible.

Just my opinion. The reason they make you watch car crashes in driving school is so you don't drink and drive or do something stupid. A little different than watching a harness racing accident.

They have issued the press release and sadly, Hal Belote has died from his injuries.
