well ever since martin garcia has gotten successful again and been riding first call for bob baffert, victor espinoza seems to be have left in the cold. he does seem to be riding a good one here and there but not like before. 5-6 years ago victor was the man and now all of a sudden martin seems to have taken that position. plus. i will add that he's made interfernece a few times with baffert contenders (ala lookin at lucky and the factor) and maybe that's why baffert dont use him no more as well. but i will add that they did team up on midnight interlude in the santa anita derby but lost the mount after the triple crown races ended!!

in today's san carlos he was trying to get the factor disqualified in the san carlos but it wasnt good enough. baffert didnt seem too please with that.

what do you think? has martin taken victor's spot now?

Really? Is this an unresolved question for anyone that follows SoCal? Martin Garcia was riding first call for Baffert BEFORE his work visa expired in late 2010.

Are you sure about that? There was a guy by the name of Gary stevens who was 1st call for baffert then. Victor got the ride on War Emblem cause he didn't have a mount for the Derby, Stevens was commited Johannesburg already, and Baffert didn't get the horse till after the Illinois derby. He didn't have any good 3 year olds and bought him after they won in Illinois.
