Pierce wins Chester Drivers' Challenge; Drivers, Grandich contribute $10,000 to Operation Warm
A trio of wins propelled Ron Pierce to victory in the $50,000 Harrah's Chester Drivers' Challenge on Sunday (Dec. 18) afternoon at Harrah's Chester. Wins aboard Livefreeordiehard, Strange Hanover, and Lord Terror accounted for 150 of Pierce's 189.5 points, leading him to the $15,000 winner's share. George Napolitano, Jr. finished second with 149 points, while Tim Tetrick took show honors with 131. Also competing (in order of finish) were Daniel Dubé, Andy Miller, David Miller, Corey Callahan, and Yannick Gingras.
While Pierce was the big winner on the track, the big winner for the day was Operation Warm, an organization which provides winter coats to underprivileged children. The drivers donated $5000 to Operation Warm, while Standardbred owner Peter Grandich matched that contribution.
