Marvelous name.  Right up there with Dildo, Newfieland, and the other usual Canadian komic-keyword places:  Medicine Hat, Moose Jaw, Kanata, Placentia Bay, ad infinitum, eh?

Spuzzum, BC, is my favorite. It's actually not too far up the road from Nooksack, WA.

LOL.

Let's not forget KAMLOOPS, BC.

I actually had a kid from Kamloops on an old politics board of mine... nice kid, but when he got started about softwood tariffs he'd go nuts.   Smiley

And of course there is Palmyra, NY (birthplace of the Mormon religion)... and, to the east a town called Lawyersville.  Smiley

And of course HAZLETON, home of the Mahatma of MOTO.

Broomall is good, too.  Oil City?  Great Bend (another hick town with Mormon historical significance , oddly enough)?  Matamoros?  Wapwallopen? Moosic?

And of course, LITITZ, pretzel capital of the world.

More from Canada

Yellowknife, Whitehorse, Hull, Gods River (Manitoba) , Lantz (Nova Scotia)

That Nova Scotia town is home to the Canadian version of the infamous Rating System. Used for Canadian harness tracks only such as Woodstock, Truro, Kawatha Downs  and Summerside.

I've been in Hull (Hull-Gatineau)... you come from the nicest part of Ottawa, you pass the Chateau Laurier and Parliament Hill, it's bloody marvelous, and then you cross a bridge, the first thing you see is a fargin' ***[/i], and then you're practically in the third world, you're in Kweebek, but Westmount it ain't.  I was shocked.  Didn't stay around long enough for steamed hot dogs or a Mae West, and I'd had my poutine already in Awfulwa.

Since Terry has been dipping down to the harness board lately, I'm surprised he didn't check in with Square Butte and Bald Butte, MT.

ORT a bit, but I have exactly two famous relatives, and one, believe it or not, became famous in Montana.  Grin

There are actually two Square Buttes (that I know of). Both really are square shaped. One is out along the Missouri River kind of south and East of Fort Benton. It has a bighorn sheep population. The other is south and west of Great Falls. Lots of deer, but no bighorn sheep.

Ohhhhhhh .... you meant Square BUTTE.

So was Plummer, especially regarding the local newspapers. Kept them well in check until AFTER he was swinging in the breeze.
