Does anyone know the story on this 2yo filly trotter?  The connections TT'ed the horse at the Red Mile, and she went a huge 1:55.1 mile...but she's yet to race.

Did they trial her just to put up a mark for when she plays in the field with the boys?

Best,
EW

Either to enhance her value as a future broodmare, or because they are trying to sell her.
Given who her owners are, I would guess they have a very good reason. Wink

Why do these owners "have a very good reason?"  Since I don't follow the ownership out East closely, I'm not familiar with the situation...

EW:
The owners are Chuck Sylvester, the trainer of multiple Hambletonian winners, Neal Goldman, who owned two of Chuck's best trotters in recent years, Pine Chip (2nd in the Hambo) and Chip Chip Hooray (Hambo winner), and the third owner (under a stable name, Juniper II LLC, you probably are unfamiliar with) is John Campbell.
What I'm saying is that the owners aren't exactly novices in this business. If they do something, it's for a  good reason. Wink

I just checked the Harrisburg catalog, and she is in the sale, Hip # 1866. Clearly the TT was for that purpose.

Thanks, Paul.

I assume then there's a Juniper (one, since this is "two") LLC, and which is Campbell's as well?  Appreciate the heads up on the ownership.  I remember Chuck winning on Chip Chip Hooray -- it was nice to see him get the win...especially with the Chicago driver in tow.    Wink

In all honesty, I don't recall ever seeing a horse race under "Juniper I" and the USTA has no record of that stable name. I believe Campbell has a partner, so maybe that's the source of the"II".
I have seen him race under other stable names. One of them is something on the order of "Having Fun Stable".

Thanks, Paul -- I need to pop for the USTA guide that has all the partnerships listed.

If you're just interested in occasionally looking up something about horses or people, your best bet is probably to sign up for a PATHWAY account. I think you can start with a deposit of $10, and you then only the charges for what you access get deducted from your account balance.

You also need to consider that a lot of research can be done FREE (oops don't let the US Trotting people know I'm telling you this on a public forum) through the link http://pathway.ustrotting.com/search/index.cfm

Several people have been using Pathway for a long time (a paying a pretty price for the info as well) without understanding that a lot of the info you're looking for is F-R-E-E!

Thanks, Paul.  I am a PATHWAY member...I just figure that given my curiousity, it's worth the $22 to buy the guide.

Once again, thanks for your help.
