  Gotta love it.  Got an email where I can attend a Workshop and then take a Horsemanship Skills Test so I can be certified as an "Equine Specialist"... all to the tune of $575 (plus travel expenses and lodging).  Pretty soon they'll make you be certified to wipe your own ass.

  Here's another gripe:  I've been going on hours long trail rides since I was a kid, never had a problem.  After riding "proper German dressage way" sitting up on my seatbones, I'm sore as shit after trail riding the other day.  Why in hell would you sit up on bones when you have that God given cushion aka nice fat ass just a slouch back?
  Who the hell makes up all these ridiculous rules?

  Wait, I'm not done yet.  Every dressage horse I see... whether live, pics, or videos... is wearing a tight flash noseband (figure 8 for racing folks).  When I asked why, was told haughtily "to keep their mouth closed of course".  Hmmmm and why is every horse gaping his mouth open in the first place.......?

dont you luv it when some prima frickn donna comes up and ask you how you ride? Now you have just finished a 7 hour trail ride and some one comes up and ask you such a stupid ass question i use to look at them with dust from head to toe horse hair all over me poison oak leaves hanging out my saddle and bridle and look at them and say "any way i can keep my ass in the saddle."
so dang crazy any more everyone is a speacialist by the way ogm you only need the certificate if you are using the horse blanket to wipe your ass if you use poison oak leaves you dont need one.

  lol  Fuzzy you're a hoot.  I'm trying to get certified as a therapeutic riding instructor.  Been at it for over a year now, my mentor feels I'm ready.  Supposed to be going next month for the certification which includes riding a pattern. They proclaim there is to be no discrimination shown toward Western riders, but they definitely are very dressage oriented, so I've been taking some dressage lessons. 
   I can see where the dressage community is getting their mitts all over this organization what with them already having their protocols and Level 1, 2, 3 etc. Everything is certification, certification, certification.  Now they're talking about making it mandatory to be RE-certified every so many years.  More $$$ in the coffers.
  After/if I get this riding certification I want to get my driving cert (that should be a no-brainer, right?  ) and my Vaulting cert.  The vaulting is what I'm really looking to specialize in, but you need to be a riding instructor first.
  Here's what it's about.  I attended a Workshop recently and had to do the compulsory moves on the barrel.  !!!!  At my age!!!  I did it, though.

Yeh when I was younger they called me hooters now that I am old I got to keep them from hitten my knees so I dont hit my self in the head and know my self out now I am an old hoot.
