Great job, IHHA in getting some positive legislation through the House.  This is the first good piece of news I've seen on the legislative front in years!  From what I've heard, this bill will get money into the purse account and will contractually eliminate recapture.  A great piece of news and a big thank you is owed to all IHHA members for calling and writing their legislators.  Now, what happens?  Does the Governor have to sign it?  And will he?

Kellytuc, With the figures the way they are there will be no increase to the purses. The hard sell by the race tracks is for their benefit not ours. I don't think after paying the defered recapture Illinois racing will even survive! Sorry for being so negative, but we took it in the shorts again. I hope I am wrong and time will tell, in the mean time I will be working hard to defeat this bill in the senate or add an admendment to eliminate recapture for good.
