I have a picture from July 4th 1994 Hanging over my fireplace (poster size) Dale Hiteman in the Bike, he has the same posture then as now, it has worked for him and I am not going to crituque him or anyone else!

THEN DONT PUT HIM UP, DONT BET HIM, AND SHUT THE f*CK UP!

What are you, some sort of simpleton?

I *don't* bet him, but I bet some of the races he drives in -- and Hiteman's in alot of races.

The problem is, his horses performance hardly ever matches what you see in the pp's: looks good on paper, public bets, Dale down in flames at a short price -or- horse looks like crap in the pp's, Dale now drives all out, win-place-or-show at big balloons.

So, RDUKE, the real remedy is for me to not bet on Illinois harness races at all. That's fine, I have lots of company there.

(I know why some of you love him so much -- I'm just trying to get you to admit the real reason why; it ain't about winning purse money. It's all about FTP.)

Homer has made checks with Dale on Parklane Powerful; it seems no accident that when it was time to DRIVE the horse, Magee was put up.

And - no shock - Parklane put in a great effort but has lost some steps vs. the Chicago Open company.

Well, then, good!

I didn't know that. Maybe this Dale thing does make sense. He got second--place checks WITHOUT driving, and Dave gets on and USES the horse and gets a second-place check.

I don't think speed was all that great. The winner was covered up....and sprinted. Parklane is more of a grinder than a sprinter. I think she's better coming at horses rather than having to hold on.

Where have you been for the past couple years DALE HITEMAN HAS BEEN DRIVING AT BALMORAL .....  He leaves for Florida Ala the snowbirds and races at pompano in winter . While I'm not going out on a limb saying he the best Illinois has to offer . Hiteman is serviceable (get it ) as a driver in Illinois and may be in the top three this summer as many drivers have left for greener pastures . Who do you think is better then hiteman these days in Illinois i repeat Illinois .

when i played balmoral heavy last year and the year before ,,dale was not a regular, and he has not been in 8 -9 races a night like he used to be,,,also since last September,s super night races have not been back to balmoral, cause of the piss poor fields,,the money sucks, the pools suck ,,,dale has lost that aggressive will to win,,and when dale gives interviews stating he is saving the horse so he can race another week  that is detrimental to betting horse races,,,that is why i say dale is a toss out on most bets,,,i dale is not what he use to be and he is not in the bike like he use to be,,,,,,,,,,now who is better than him on the track, can,t say cause it,s all going down the tubes,,,i,m not big on many of the chicago,s drivers,,,and when i do play harness which i did at the OTB this past month,,it was a total guessing game at bal and maywood ,,it didn,t matter who was driving,,had a hard time finding some horses that could finish the race..and believe me i would rather go to the track for live racing,,but to drive 60 to 90 miles to see $14 exact,as  and $3.80 winners is not appealing,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,hopefully the casino money gets released and the horse population goes up

Service I agree with most of your post on this subject . However if you read what i posted Hitman is a snowbird ...
He goes to Florida and returns in summer to drive at balmoral park and does pretty well . I expect with the exit of several drivers since last year he will even do better . I totally agree about enjoying live racing and what the Illinois program has these days isn't worth spending 3 bucks a gallon to see live .

He had a couple of horses to drive at PPK for Gary Lewis & his loyal owner in Chicago (can't remember the name but they're big guys).  Actually won once, which is a small miracle.

How does what Dale did 20 years ago help me TODAY?

I don't care what a guy did in the 70's and the 80's -- I can't go back and bet those races.

No one has ever explained this significance of a guy's former wins before, Filly -- maybe you know the answer:

If a guy was a WINNER before and he is a STIFF today...quick: what is he TODAY?

(Don't puzzle over it. It's just not that tricky.)
