The last administration/Congress did so well.

I guess nobody can run the country.

Horrible. The pits. Made all this possible.
A real traditional conservative like Reagan could run things nicely.

This is about social justice. They cant make the middle class rich so basically they aim to make the middle class poor. 2 classes. The elite and the poor. Like Venezuela.
It is working. The republican party is just as guilty as the liberals.

That, unfortunately, is the truth. The great middle class that was built up throughout the 20th century is slowly being robbed and destroyed to get us back to the same sort of nation of elite and peon, robber baron and serf, like existed in 19th century America.

He's dead, and besides he already served his two terms. And besides that, in today's environment, the "real" conservatives would run him out of town on a rail.

Just wondering, you do KNOW that Reagan increased the defecit 189% and at the time his tax INCREASE was the largest in history.....you KNEW that, right? Saint Ronny was a lot of show also, and it is funny to me to here many middle of the road guys compare Obama's first 2 years with his. Reagan's first mid term was ugly for the r team as will be for the D team this time.

Who is a real conservative?  Is that the same as "real liberals" dissapearing?  No self respecting liberal would ever want the government controlling their life like this, telling them they have to buy something.

I think we agree on alot. No I don't see that person out there. It certainly isn't liberalism and Obama though. He is worse for the economy than Carter was. Its not Romney its not Mccain. Its basically a sad situation.  If it is to be saved though it will come from the right it will not come from the left. Of that I am 100% sure.

The greatest president ever and should be on mount rushmore. I don't think he won the Nobel peace prize though.
Dig him up and prop him up and we'd be OK.

here's a sickening thought for those of you on the right side of the aisle...who's going to beat him in 12'? Here's a bit of forecasting, over the next 2 years things settle and balance out....people calm down and go back to their lives....who do you see out there now can come close to beating him?

Terry the post contains the word LIKE Reagan and you should remember your words above Bush has already served two terms too and that is over also and we are now fighting a new civil war in a divided country where some are not willing to change because a new President says so ! Do you or anyone else think a country divided can succeed with anyone leading us . By the way they sure screwed Stupak with that executive order bullshit that means absolutely nothing ! But its nothing new in politics and the end jusified the means .

Who is a real conservative?

Such as the ones targeting McCain, and Crist, and so on.

The government tells me a lot of things I have to do and can't do. Today I am filling out my census form under penalty of law. Next month I will file my income taxes under penalty of law. On and on it goes. Quite frankly, I fail to see much difference between mandated medical insurance and mandated car insurance, except this is more expensive. Oh well, less trips to the casino for some people, I guess. You should like it. 30,000,000 less uninsured deadbeats clogging up the billing system making health cared more expensive for all the rest.

2 years is a long time.  And your memory mustn't be so great because i know that the Democrats were saying the same thing in 2006.  That they were dead & hopeless.  And here they are now - controlling everything.  No checks & balances.  That's the real problem that America faces & it faced the very same problem in 2004 when the right controlled everything.

I'm pulling for gridlock in DC.  Change is too damn radical for a great country.  So my slogan is:

Gridlock 2012!

Carter inherited a very serious problem of his own, namely, spiraling inflation. There was really no choice but to have the Fed clamp down on the money supply and put the country in a deep recession. It's the only cure to bad inflation. He got nuked for it, and Reagan got nuked for that same recession for a couple years, but it brought us back from the brink.

How about someone with a centrist outlook, instead of an extremist either way?

Looks like some nut like Glenn Beck could run and beat him.
When the house and senate shift to the right in November it could help "him".
As things continue to collapse he may face a legitimate challenge in the primary also.

For abortion on demand. For gay marriage. For legalizing all drugs. For everything on the left. For gun control.
Unfortunately the left cant manage a 7-11 let alone a country so I will be voting for whomever the repubs troll out.
