Just trying to get some picks for tomorrow from the forum.

You have to pay $10 or $20 for mine in the contest.  Grin

PS - Not worth a dime.

Okay here's the first three that might go off before I roll out of bed, or have my coffee:

Race 1 - #4 Uncle Pink
Race 2 - #4 Worldly
Race 3 - #2 Golden Triumph

If any of these are scratched, subs #5.

The rest tomorrow.

R1.  Allowance $25k

#6 MISSISSIPPI MONEY 6/1- was claimed from Dan Peitz at Oak Lawn for $15k, raised to a $30k claimer against older going two turns and won. Turns back to one turn and back in against own age group.

R2. Allowance $51k N1X

#2 BIND 8/5- I'm not going to get cute and try and beat this horse. Won debut at Fairgrounds by 10 lengths with a 105 beyer and then got caught at wire when very rank throughout in two turn debut. Stall has done right by this horse and taken his time and I think you will see a more relaxed horse unleash a dominant performance.

R3. Maiden Special Weight $49k

#4 CJ RUSSELL 4/1- I find it interesting that Baffert is debuting this Mike Peagram owned colt in Kentucky instead of California. Works are blazing, colt is bred for speed and Baffert strikes at 30% with first timers.

R4. Allowance Optional Claimer $80k/N3X (turf)

#8 SNOW TOP MOUNTAIN 5/2-class of the field and sure favorite, looked awesome off the bench in last and might actually be a better horse this year

R5. Allowance Optional Claimer $75k N1X

#6 LEE CHAPEL 15/1- closed well to win debut a CD for Wilkes who rarely has debuting horses go out and win, didn't appear to care for the poly at Keeneland, water is much deeper today but red hot Julien Leparoux sticks around and it looks like he had options in this race

R6. Twin Spires Turf Sprint, Grade 3, $100k

#7 EARLY RETURN 12/1- this race sets up for a runner off the pace and I think Chamberlain Bridge may have seen his best days, turf/dirt not the best angle for this high percentage barn but he is good enough to pick up the pieces

R7. Humana Distaff, Grade 1, $300k

#8 TIDAL POOL 8/1- D. Wayne is off to a good start at Churchill after winning the Oak Lawn training title. I love the cutback to one turn, the horse has run well over the surface, Borel rides and the price will be right considering how much money #7 is expected to take

R8. Distaff Turf Mile, Grade 2, $200k

#11 NEVER RETREAT 9/2- Chris Block is on a  roll right now, this mare fires pretty much every time(20 for 25 in the money) and unless Aruna comes back as she left, there are no world beaters in this race

R9. The Churchill Downs, Grade 2, $300k

#12 HERE COMES BEN 10/1- its clear judging from his Breeders Cup effort and subsequent time off that something went wrong, he is back on the track, working lights out at Keeneland and has a history of success at Churchill. If you put a line through his BC effort, what do you think his odds would be? I'll tell you this, that field he beat in the Grade 1 at Saratoga was a BC quality bunch

R10. Woodford Reserve Turf Classic, Grade 1, $500k

#14 EXPANSION 12/1- in top form at age 6, won Grade 3 two back and lost photo in Grade 2 last out, like many in here, you have to believe he will be a factor in the stretch

R11. The 137th Running of The Kentucky Derby, Grade 1, $2,000,000

#17 SOLDAT 12/1- much has been made of his Florida Derby debacle, the experts have proclaimed that Soldat can't win unless he is on the lead. Couldn't be further from the truth. Soldat can rate. What did him in at Gulfstream was the heat. It was very hot on Florida Derby day and he lost the race in the paddock according to trainer Kiaran McLaughlin. Apparently he is relishing the cooler temps in Louisville and should work out a pretty nice trip from post 17, especially if Uncle Mo scratches as expected. There is a 50% chance of showers on Saturday and if it rains he will get hammered at the windows.

R12. Allowance $53.5k N2X

#6 FIRM RESOLVE 12/1- 2 for 2 this year, won N1X easily at Keeneland last out over a synthetic track and I actually believe he prefers the dirt

R13. Maiden Special Weight $49k

#7 MAPLE LEAF KITTEN 20/1- don't care for Kitten's Joy horses on the main track but this one was claimed by a high percentage barn for $75k out of last, you have to really like something about a horse to drop $75k in maiden claimer

Commander -- love the Derby pick! Hoping the wide draw keeps a good deal of dirt from being kicked in his face, another potential reason for a mulligan in the FL Derby.

We should probably agree on rules. I think in the past we have always used $2WP?

Well, certainly races I win.  Wink

But we've always used a single $2WP over the entire card.

Can we bend the rules for swoop if he will make a donation to charity?

Just take zero for the races you already missed, post picks for the rest ASAP, and agree to forward a donation to Brian. We are asking for at least $10, you can give more of course.

(Contest Grand Pooh-Bah -- will this be OK?)

I for one have no objection.

I know I've already broke one rule we had before, about getting them all in before post #1. DQ me if you want.
