I am 42, but have been going to the track since I was knee high to a grasshopper with my dad. Then I started training with my cousin. We always had cheap horses. Never more than 3 at a time. Now down to one right now. Loved the 80's and 90's. Couldn't wait to see the free for alls with horses like mostly melvin, baron lancer, and so on.

Sleepless, thanks for the information. I was close. It has been many years so I tried to be as accurate as possible.

I agree vaporize, wish we could turn the clock back just for a little while. Such good racing back then.

Sportsman's was my favorite track for harness racing during the summer. It was fun to hang out in the clubhouse.

the crowds, the excitement, the quality of horses etc etc etc.
Loved the paddock of Sportsman's Park and the double headers in below zero weather at Hawthorne.  I need a crying icon.  Getting very sentimental and maudlin for yesteryear.

Memories...

Sunday afternoons at Balmoral.

Sitting outside at Sportsman's in early May with the heaters on overhead.

The truck outside the entrance to the exit of the clubhouse at Sportman's selling polish's.

Those COLD doubleheaders at Hawthorne.

Talking to some classy hall of famer's outside the paddock at Sportsman's.
