The US Postal service is losing billions a yr and still has not cut out Saturday delivery.
I couldnt agree more......Fed Ex now charges up to $35 to get a letter across 2 states in 24 hours.......Yet the Post Office gets a letter from coast to coast most times in 48 hours for $.44
The cost of mailing a letter continues to be one of the biggest bargains in the World......It should cost at least 5 times what it does and regular Saturday delivery should have been suspended years ago.
I've never heard a number on this but how much money does the Government waste making pennies (I heard it costs 1.67 cents to produce a penny just in raw materials)? Why the hell wasn't the penny eliminated 10 years ago.....So the piggy bank people didn't go out of business?

Years ago all the top moneymakers provided most of the jobs.....in today's world that is anything but true.....Many of the top money earners today produce few jobs and therein lies one of the Major problems we face in US today and why the money is running to so many fewer people at the top of the heap

Except for the government pensions and some subsidized mail for handicapped people, the Post Office is a self-sustaining business. Unfortunately for them, things like raising rates and cutting out delivery days are still overseen by Congress. Informative story on how the Post Office and its budgets are handled: http://www.uspsoig.gov/foia_files/ESS-WP-09-001.pdf

The robber barons did at least create jobs. That's what makes all the Republican talk today about harming "the job creators" such a load of bunk. During all the debate about extending the tax cuts last year, when Droopy Boehner the crybaby was going on and on about it, the CBO put out some numbers that said something like bringing back the pre-Bush tax rates on the top earners would only impact job creation by something like .004%

I'd say read the story. It's pretty interesting. Especially the part about how the politicians roll Social Security and the Post Office back into the "unified budget" to make things look better than they really are!

Idiot. Anyone can get it in Cali. They keep doctors in the pot store. They ask why you need it you say anxiety and they write you a script. It's easier to get than prozac.

The question was whether or not it was "legal", idiot. Crack cocaine, your drug of choice, is easy to get on the streets of NYC, too, but that doesn't make it legal.

George W Bush put us in the hole.
George Bush pushed the knife in....Obama shoved it all the way and twisted it to make sure the wound never closes

One thing Obama did was quit hiding the true costs of our wars off budget, like Bush did. When he walked in the door he was looking at a true deficit of over $1 trillion, and an economy that was shedding jobs faster than a snake shedding skin in Spring.

Yeah it's a real shame we didn't get see what Al Gore could have done...after all the guy did invent the internet Well, at the least we wouldn't have had the irresponsible Bush tax cuts that put this country in the tank, and probably not as much of the huge expansion of government that happened under Bush, either. And a FYI in the interest of total truth, Gore did NOT claim he invented the Internet, but was indeed one of the fathers of the Internet, having championed it and funded it when it was just DARPAnet. http://www.snopes.com/quotes/internet.aspbtw welome to the forum Total Truth.
