“The city reports that the racetrack employs more than 900 people, generates approximately $630,000 annually, primarily from pari-mutuel wagering taxes, and remains closed for a large part of the year.”………………………

It is estimated that the proposed development could bring in about $2.4 million annually as a result of taxes on sales, property and property transfers, the city reported.

My thinking is. If the Illinois Tracks dont get gaming revenue and when DD is out of the picture. Say goodbye to AP.

Might not have to wait that long.  If KY tracks get casno gambling, CD will focus on Ellis Park in the summer and sell AP to a real estate developer just like they did with Hollywood Park.

DD's son is also a member of CD's board and is sort of a co-holder of the 3 million shares of CD stock.  So the interest in AP may not be lost with the passing of Mr. D.  Although Mr. D's son, like me, is not real young either.  So there may be hope for the Arlington bashers out there, you may still get to see Trackside Condos and Trackside Mall in the future.

I do not want Ap to Close. The facts are what is CD business plan? They wanted some sort of revenue from gaming... they dont have it so far.. They are public company and should do what best for stockholders...  IT IS SPECULATION NOT MY WISH WHAT MAY HAPPEN TO AP... AND IS STILL YEARS FROM HAPPENING.   I AGREE IF KY GETS SLOTS... WHY WOULD CD WANT AP?(Churchill had a conference call today did you listen?)

Dont be so over dramatic, Dan. I don't remember anyone here wishing Arlignton closed and gone.
