Does anyone know the whereabouts of Ed Connaughton? Last I heard he was retired in Hawaii.

Thought you would like to know that Mr. Ed Connaughton, formerly of Today's Racing and Channel 26 WCIU TV passed away on December 25th, 2001 on the Big Island of Hawaii - his ashes were spread on the Big Island.

If he were still alive he would have to be closing in on 100.

Used to watch Ed C. on Channel 26 replaying the races.  As Phil Georgeff once said,  "Ed traded one addiction for another."  Alcohol to Gambling....

I  remember having the wife tape record the replays. I got home from work, made some cocktails, and listened. He could not get the last race.  He taped the races at the track and drove back to the studio for the 4:30 Show.  He acknowledged every letter he got on the air.  Fond memories of Ol Ed.
