You want to pay all starters fine, but the purse money then should be paid only from 1st to 3rd; let the owner's interests be in line with the gamblers.

All positions should  get paid something, in all other jobs people get paid to work. you put on the show you deserve something no matter where you finish

Can't have it both ways. Yes, in other jobs people get paid for their efforts even if the boss looses money on the deal. Thing is, you are the boss.

If the handle increases with 11 races instead of 10 and full fields overall then the plan is a success.  If the handle does not increase with the extra horses then it is a failure.  It is as simple and objective as that

Paying all positions something is a good idea.Has anyone considered the cost of racing a horse? The track makes a takeout on all horses win or lose.

How about?   you break you get nothing,,,,,,,,you don,t finish within 10-12 lenghts of filed,you get nothing,,,better yet bone head driver gets locked in,,driver gets nothing
