I had never heard of Doug McNair until he gave a masterful drive on Aracache Hanover to beat Tim Tetrick and One More Laugh in Friday night's 7th at Maywood.

In the post-race interview Tom Kelley said McNair was well on his way to becoming the youngest driver to reach 1,000 career victories, so that means he must be around 20 or barely 21.

Since I had never heard of him before tonight, I was wondering what you folks who are more well-versed with the national harness scene know about him, where he drives and your opinion of him. He certainly looked like an extremely capable driver from what I saw of him tonight against Tetrick and John Campbell in that race.

Doug McNair is leading driver at Western Fair in London, Ontario.
Likes the engine! Great on 1/2 milers.

I don't understand what is so masterful about leaving hard from the #1 post on a half mile track with a horse proven to be able to win cutting it out on the lead. He was just the best in there last night.

His driving style reminds me a lot of Walter Case Jr. similar colors too.
