Just getting retired for poor performance? and hes healthy?
Hes a gelding and they will just stop racing him?
and hes in the breeders cup day?
You guys are a lot different than the standardbred guys. Ive seen a horse with 1.5 million earned in a 5000 claimer.
they will just put him in a field and not run him in lower class races?
Weird.
sounds like he has a better fate than Ferdinand.

I say Lil E Tee, but he's close.

You're right about SB racing until those ages.  I'm not sure I'm in love with that aspect of the SB game but it happens and I've taken care of a few of the old war horses.

Yea i never understood the Ferdinand thing.
That horse could have been an attraction at a track like Rosecroft.
People would come by and see an Kentucky derby winner. He had to have value.
Like Mine that bird he has to have value as an attraction somewhere. Id go see him if I was at a venue he was at. It has to be something to touch a Kentucky derby winner.

yes.

Well, that is not a bad thing considering there is only one winner each year.

Giacamo? he ran 4th on the 2006 BC Classic to Invasor and Bernardini.  Not even close to Mine That Bird.

It was a disrespectful question and I have no idea why you would even acknowledge it with an answer. The horse won the Kentucky Derby.

Wrong. Not even the worst of the last 5 years. Super Saver has to be ranked lower than MTB - he did little before his Derby win and NOTHING after.

Don't forget that Mine That Bird was a champion (Canada) as a 2yo, and his Preakness and Belmont were very legitimate races against some nice horses.

Mine That Bird finished second in the Preakness and third in the Belmont before he went to crap. You'd think they'd take him out to New Mexico and try racing him there.
There have been a lot of worse Derby winners than him.

Give him back to Chip Woolley Jr.

Living filth clunks up for 4th every day, at every racetrack in the country -- lots of times, it's a no-hoper that just  happens to pass up well-intentioned but short horses.

That's how I always think of Giacomo -- if only every other horse would have puked, he would have won more races. He was a slow, fat, plodding racehorse, with strange-looking running action; other than that, he was great.

Not sure if you meant your post seriously, or tongue-in-cheek.

i hope its a way to get him away from lucas and n the spring they let him try again with an aloowance or two down in gulfstream or new mexico , with a new trainer and a new venture.

but i doubt they will, it reads like the horse was unhappy, he is sound, he won 2 million, perfect drift won 3 million from 5 to 9..

How many allowance races do they run there with the conditions of non-winners since X?  Mine That Bird is a five-time winner, he is out of conditions.  His choices are stakes races or claimers.
