Sorry if you already covered this  ...

The IRB is to decide on dates September 25.

http://www.barntowire.com/2012/IRBnotes120911.html

There are, as usual, conflicts over thoroughbred dates, with both tracks wanting the same winter dark days, and Arlington trying to horn in on more Hawthorne dates as usual, including going further back into April, while Hawthorne asks for dates through the KY Derby. But surprisingly, no (apparent) attempt to totally eliminate the Haw Spring meet, or push AP into October. These are the published dates requests; I guess they could always amend them at the last second.

If I had read that right Arlington wants to have the April 22- May 2nd dates for Host status but also says that they will be dark April 22- May 2?

Good catch. That's what it looks like to me, too. Even piggier than usual - "We don't want Hawthorne open and running then, but we aren't going to run either, and screw the Illinois horsemen they're on their own."
