JJ we all know what goes on there, if you wrote a  letter to Tioga Mgmt about (Hallett, from other thread, which I congrats you on), then you should also write one to them about not having pre-race testing at Vernon and not threaten them about betting there instead just stop betting both places. I am not sure it will not matter in the overall scheme of things but will make them think. Their game is not racing although Gural is pro racing, it is all casino action because without that there is no racing. Without casinos he has a piece of farm land in Tioga County that might have some value with natural gas, and some land he can sell to the Turning Stone Indians, in both cases he would have a substantial loss considering how much money he has put into both locations. Bet the tracks that at least make an attempt to eliminate the soda effect, Saratoga, Meadowlands, Monticello, Yonkers (but not sure how much is really done here). Some people will say it does not matter but the reality is you have to start somewhere and if you can deter some of the cheating that goes on and stop something that hurts the game as well as the horses then that is good in my eyes.

Cheats, that land was available for sale to the Oneida's for years.  They didn't want it.  Then again they seem to think they're the best thing to ever hit Central New York and the gaming industry.  In all honesty, the area needs the 5000 jobs that they provide, but in reality, they should treat their help AND their customers alot better.  One wonders how they're doing now that the Binghamton/Scranton markets have places to go closer to home.

This is something that I do not understand regarding TC02 testing and other track regulations....

They state that a horse will be scratched if a sample comes back as being high, therefore, the horse does not race that day. Obviously this only works for the on-site black box. But, if a sample that is sent to Cornell (for example) comes back as high (post race) then the trainer can take up to 30 (or more) days to "get their affairs in order" before serving their suspension. During those 30 days, they are permitted to race.

In a recent case, where a trainer was found to have numerous illegal items in their possession on track grounds, they were given the same deal, take 30 days to get your affairs in order. The whole time they are still actively racing, and then at the end of that time, they leave for another track out of state where they can continue on racing. Therefore, besides the "shame" of the suspension in one state, their business goes on without a hitch.

How does this stop anything? Wouldn't it make more sense to have suspensions start as soon as the "crime" has been found out? Detention is a lot of nonsense, everyone knows that, most of the illegal stuff is done before that window.

I will reply in parts to this.  BFF-I love when you post, your such a warm, good natured spirit, the world could use 30 more of you.  Me personally, I would like to have just 1.

This is sickening, a black eye, and such events should not be allowed.   Contact the state in which it occured and the state in which they moved onto.   Make sure they know that we know, and moreso that we are not happy about it.

I say that due process has to occur and a speedy hearing, just like the constitution.  This 30 day window or sometimes when it comes to appeals months or even years pass.   Look at how long Tim Case jammed them in the box while appealing.

Detention is a start BFF, last week the wagering board was doing nothing.  I commend the hard work and dedication that the NYSRWB has exibited in the past 10 days.   It will take years for them to clean this sport up.

Conclusion, In the end we need to police ourselves-This turning a blind eye or sweeping bad publicity under the rug needs to end.  A new era in harness racing needs to start.   I feel the wheels have begun rolling, but we need to help ourselves.
