Dejarmbro, Broad Bahn To Square Off in $600,000 Freshman Crown Trot
WILKES-BARRE PA New York invader Dejarmbro, who equaled the world record for two-year-old colt trotters with a 1:55 tally upon coming to Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs last Friday, will have no easy task to repeat in this coming Saturdays $600,000 Breeders Crown Championship, but driver Jeff Gregory was impressed after his elimination victory.
"This is the first time I stepped him out of there, and he really went," Gregory noted after the wire-to-wire victory. Gregory has been aboard the Credit Winner colt in most of his eight victories, and Gregory and Dejarmbro look to make it nine in the Crown Championship as they start from post four in the field of eight.
That 1:55 time was just a tick better than the clockings posted by the other two elimination winners, both Pennsylvania-sired horses: Broad Bahn (post 3, Jack Moiseyev) and Big Rigs (post 2, all-time Crown driving leader John Campbell), which should assure a very spirited contest amongst these fast babies.
