Rick Plano is far and away the best driver and trainer at Cal Expo, IMHO.

Wow. Was he really turned down at Poconos? I don't understand the Big M gave him stalls a year ago didn't they??? I was curious why he didn't go to Indiana with the rest of the Calif crew ? I am curious why our best trainer and driver would be refused stalls out East at certain tracks whats the deal???

His horses may be a cut below the usual Pocono stock. but as a driver he is not overmatched.

Not at all and I am not sure his horses are even a cut below.

Refused stalls at Pompano also, as for Indiana, last year when Luke was there for a bit, Rick went there after his Vernon stint and was politely told he was not welcome.

We must not be watching the same races. Pocono has a few decent drivers but it is hardly the Meadowlands. Watch some of Plano's races from Vernon, he got horses home that had no business winning. I watch the races carefully because I bet money on them. as for Luke he has some promise, his problem is just inexperience. He need to learn patience. Luke's problem is his timing for his moves is too often premature. he needs to be less anxious and that will come with time and experience hopefully.

YOUR DEAD ON ABOUT RICK BUT LUKE IS NOT TOO GOOD. RICK IS A FINE HOREMAN AND I THINK ALL THIS NON SENSE ABOUT HIM SETTING UP EVERY RACE IS NUTS. WHEN YOUR RACING 4 CLAIMERS THEY ARE NOT VERY SOUND AND ARE ALSO NOT VERY CONSISTENT.

HE TRYS AS HARD AS HE CAN TO SETUP EVERY RACE. HE DONT RACE 4 CLAIMERS THOUGH AND ITS EASIER WHEN 80% OF THE DRIVING COLONY IS IN HIS PAYROLL OR TO STUPIT TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT

okay if inexperience is not Luke's problem , then timing certainly is. He is aggressive too much so. some times you just have to time your move since with a lot of these cheap claimers, they might only have one real brush in them. There is also a time when you know you have no horse, then just sit on the pylons and circle the course.

Rick still gets his pick of what 4 claimer he wants to drive. Luke is always aggressive my gosh the other night Lodi Copper N/w 3 trott 56 to the half WTF was that. In front by 17 lengths This horse sometimes break just pass the 3/4 but stayed flat and won in a 1.58 and a peice. Now honestly if that had been any bodys horse with half a fricking brain you would have been ready reem Luke a knew one. I bet if that was his Ricks horse that would not have happened. I guess Kenedy Lindsay took Lou Penas advice and put his drivers licsense in a toaster pop them down and let them melt.

He may be a fine horseman, but he burned too many bridges along the way, and was openly blatant about it, and isn't really welcome anywhere except Vernon ( and thats because they still think he is the GODFATHER there) and CALX.
