Christine Gabriel was doing some on site work for TVG in Dubai this morning.

After the Golden Shaheen she was talking to winning trainer Sal Gonzalez, and allowed to how the prize money would buy a lot of beans.

After the Dubai Duty Free was talking with 2nd place trainer Dick Mandella, and asked if (8 year old) The Tin Man might be getting better with a little maturity.

it was good to see her live and in person.

but what does her cancer issue have to do with anything.
we all have personal problems.....
no need to share them with the world.

I cannot understand how Terry, usually a logical thinker, can express such hate for someone so nice as Christine.  I don't know, maybe she is not the greatest analyst, but she was not really supposed to be an analyst, just sort of a hostess.  She put a friendly, nice looking, non-bimbo face on Arlington racing.  I can understand if Terry's comments were about Arlington or Mr. D, but his carrying on about Christine is ridiculous, even after she has gone.

Incidentally, her "beans" comment was explained on the Derby List as a common remark made in Kentucky about somebody who has done well financially due to some event.

Terry, you have around 40 days left to enjoy your Hawthorne racing. Then give us a break and head out on a McChump tour for four months.  I have overlooked some of your remarks recently but I am not laughing about the post that started this string.

I didn't take Terry's comment as hating Christine as a person, just an announcer.  Her style and talent is.......   unique.

Exactly. APCD Dan has trouble making that distinction.

I don't even know Christine as a person, any more than I know John "this n' that" Dooley, or "Screech at the Top of His Lungs" Durkin. Christine may be a saint, but it doesn't matter. She's doing a job, supposedly for me, the customer, and not doing it well IMHO. She's not "gone" if she is on TVG, is she?

I thought Christine did a great job when she was here and I agree she is more of a Hostess for the non regular fan, not a handicapper for the experienced.  Get real people!!  I remember Lynn Snearson and before her Elanor Flavin daughter of Maywood's Pat Flavin, they all did pretty much the same thing and thats what their there for, Lets end this boring subject and get on too more important things folks.
