from Dec 1953 Hoof Beats and "Sulky Notes":

Chances are that many harness racing fans at Yonkers Raceway who thought they were getting their first glimpse of driver Ralph Ayou, were mistaken. The 42-year-old trainer-driver probably was seen by many of them on the motion picture screen. Before taking up harness racing in 1946, Ayou was a cowboy double and stunt man in Hollywood. He appeared in some 20 pictures, including "Duel in the Sun." In that one the former cow puncher and rodeo performer subbed for Gregory Peck in some of the more dangerous horse shots.
