2005 Fall Veto Session Begins

House Bill 3640 is the "hot number" for this fall's veto session which runs this week Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday (Oct 25,26,27) and next week Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (Nov 2,3,4).

Bottom line is 3% of AGR (aggrevated gross receipts) from the current nine casinos with a split of 57% to the flats and 43% to the harness; elimination of recapture and more to come when the 10th casino is finally approved, wherever it may be...... the lakefront downtown?

If it is Mayor Daleys dream we skip the language in Amendment 2 that comes before the last sentence to say "is located in a county, the entirety of which is located to the North of Cook County".

Maybe it is the dream of Waukegans mayor.

Thanks for catching the little bit of humor which was added to a very serious post indeed. Whenever parking tickets are left on my car, the directions won't be followed on who to make the check out to: CITY OF CHICAGO (in bold too!), as they're made out to Richard M. Daley (the best is when the checks are stamped by the city and still clear the bank!)

Looks like the 'mayor's dream' won't be a reality after all if this passes. For those unfamiliar with the northern coastal suburbs of Illinois, the areas in and around Waukegan have been very supressed and depressed for years and are in dire need of some serious rehabilitation.

Hopefully the influx of new monies into this area (in the form of capital expenditures and city development) as well as the 'southern suburbs' of Chicago (note specific language in the house bill) will be an added influx into our states' economy.

The city of Elgin is a prime example of what can happen over time, quite possibly the city of Aurora as well. The rebuilding process take time but could work out to create a beautiful area in and around Waukegan and the 'southern suburbs'.

        I know you want things to be positive and you are doing everything you can do to try and make the game better and bring it back to what it once was but don't you realize that you are waisting your time in Illinois?

        The game is going dead and Morgan said it himself in his interview and everyone believes everything Morgan says so it must be true.

        The leading driver in Chicago is feed up and is leaving so what does that tell you about the game there. The gestapo and the Johnson's have ruined the game with the help of the IRB and there is no fixing what they have destroyed. So look for Chicago racing to be on the same level as Northfield in 2006 unless the horseman strike and sit out until they get recapture dropped and get a cut from the boats. Slots are way off in the future if in the picture at all.
