Surprising no one, the racetracks went in front of the House Committee on Gaming yesterday and asked for slot machines. Also surprising no one, they were told anything like that was unlikely in an election year. (And I might add, unlikely in any year that's not the first year of a governor's term.)
Not too positive, anyhow.
While existing customers will continue to sit at card tables, looking sideways at flickering TV's, paying surcharge, and breathing 2nd hand smoke, at Arlington Trackside, until they get sick of it and stay home to bet with Winticket.
