Bet the 1948 Hudson would be worth more today than the starting gate Wink

Advertisement from Mar 1950 Hoof Beats.

Free,
Your going to need to expand on this?
 You mean selling a horse?

I've numerous ads saved from organized sales and even individual sales, even dispersals.

In most instances (at least for the last 40-50 years) photo's of actual horses were used instead of graphics, although I'm sure there are some exceptions that I've forgotten.

 Please expand?

i would be interested in seeing any kind of write up-brief at is may be- about any horse just to see how they worded things back in the day that they were trying to sell. Like...did they say why they were selling? Their thoughts on the horse? Where they think it could race? Anything like that. Not a big deal, but if you had one handy.
I bet a trainer's description was much more honest and genuine than they are today.

Free,
I seem to recall a few advertisements that were taken out and offered descriptions as you have described, however and generally speaking, such descriptions were not included in the periodicals.
(I've no idea how to locate the few I recall, as I'd have to recall some of the words to search for the item in my data).

 Rather, primarily in catalogs.

Advertisements, and for the most part have not been a part of my archival. I do have exceptions, perhaps when the ad contains something of special interest or through the process, I recall somebody who holds a special interest.

I do have some unique ads which I primarily scanned from Trotter and Pacer issues (1927-32) for two pedigree guru's (Larry and JacK), however even locating those could be a task.

I do have a small ad that I recently scanned from a 1946 or 47 Hoof Beats and the only reason I scanned the thing was because the guy selling the horses was Jimmy Cruise.
