Dan, I'm sure when EW wakes up after his champagne hangover, he'll come on and refute this thread lead.  Even if Scott threw in his suggestions to the ticket, big deal.  Handicapping is a skill, and they can't deny a rightful prize for having skill.  Scott wouldn't do anything to screw up his career in CA, and he seems to be flourishing out there.  My only thought today is that EW didn't use Pinnacle to leg the bet, because they may screw him on a "aggregate win" scenario.  I'm sure they used Youbet or Expressbet and walked away with about $59 K after taxes.  Good show !  TC

Capitol Racing doesn't have anything to do with racing at Cal expo anymore. This is obviously a fraud.

All you have to do is look under the P6 thread on here and you'll see Ed posted the numbers for everyone to see.  This is a cruel joke, you don't mess around when someone hits an 83,000 payoff.

Dear Group:

Some individuals are envious of everyone who is successful.

Fact is, Ed won the pool.

It doesn't matter if 1 guy or 100 guys were part of the winning ticket.

You had to put your money up before the races went off.

Again, good for Ed and his group.

The only thing I wish, is that I was part of it.  But I wasn't.

If there is ever another opportunity like this, I want to be part of it.

This is my only regret.  I offer congratulations to everyone who was part of.

There is no law saying you can't have a group of people wagering on a specific event

Again, cash that wonderful ticket.

I wish Scott speedly recovery.

What a surprise that California harness fan and reporter both have email addresses from aol and they make no sense.  Something like pp655tl@aol.com.  And they both signed up this morning

Ken, I suppose you are right about putting a group together to hit a large jackpot like this but one big thing. One of the groups members was Scott E. (the track announcer and publicity director) and I believe that makes it look like it was fixed or rigged. If they hit the bet honestly I wish them well but when Scott is involved, it makes it look very bad. I'm not saying he did or didn't do anything, it just looks bad. Now everyone knows that Edward could not have picked all of those horses himself without the help of Scott, is that cheating, Maybe? You cannot have someone like an announcer or publicity director forming a group to steal other patrons money. I just talked with Chris Schick and he is going to look into it and he also advise me to call the California orse Racing Board on monday morning, which I will. I want to say that I don't think these guys did anything wrong, maybe they just bend the rules some by using Scott and his information. This is the kind of stuff we californians have been fighting all along and here comes something that looks very suspicious. Very unfortunate, isn't it?

Cal Fan

As I said before, he was not a part of the initial buying of the ticket.  I don't know if shares were sold, but I am CERTAIN that he or his "information" had ZERO to do with the building of the ticket.

Also, I'm a little offended that you think that me and my friends couldn't hit it without help.  I assume that I come off as well-informed and maybe even sort of intelligent on here, but I guess not!   Cheesy

Cal Fan, dig in another yard for dirt, because there isn't any here, my friend.

Best,
EW
