Come on man. Don't be kidding us about this Joani Ross. This girl was on the news last night. She is Tiger mistress #23b.

Kinda doubt this is the same gal.
This photo was taken before Tiger was born.

Note drivers wearing soft hats and not helmets!

This Ross was a "Miss Photoflash" when the photo was taken.
Jayne Maynesfield was a Miss Photoflash in earlier years.

Just because it is a Hanover horse I will guess that the lady driving Caddie Hanover is Lawerance Shepards wife or one of his daughters.
Alma ,Pat, or, Charlett

 looking,
I'm not sure any of the other Sheppard daughters (besides Alma; even Alma didn't race any horses, she participated in time trials, and many are not aware that she set records with other horses prior to Dean Hanover) ever raced any horses.

Charlotte Sheppard-Devan has owned some very famous horses and is the only living sister today.

Pat Sheppard-Williams is the mother of Russell Williams of Hanover.
---------

The father of the gal in the picture owned a farm that was originally a dairy farm in Cheaspeake City, MD., of which the name was Bohemia Point Farm.
The daughter of this gal is known quite well today, although primarily behind the scenes, where she is quite active.
The husband of this gal, had/has (?) both a nephew and a great nephew with the same first name that are quite well-known horsemen.

 NOT Chapman.

This reinsman raced actively in Chicagoland, however not exclusively.
The name is not very well known (at least that I recall).

Westfield Girl  1947 year book
Owned by
Baker Acres
St.Charles, IL.
Last start in the USA was
The Maud S Trot At DuQuoin, IL. on Aug 27  1947.
Finished second to Victory Song in 2:01 4/5
Does not list a driver or trainer.
So I will guess the picture is at Du Quoin, IL.

1946 year book

 Her last USA win was
The Kentucky Trot at Lex, KY. on Oct 4, 1946
She finished 1,2,2,1 in times of
2:02 1/2   2:03 1/2  2:04 1/4  2:04 1/2
Does not list a driver

Muddy driver on the left Edward H. Harriman or E. Roland Harriman.
I think Edward H. is the dad so this must be E. Roland Harriman.

I'm unable to recall seeing any photo of Roland Harriman on an evening.

When he drove in races, his participation was exclusive to matinees.

Here's a very neat picture of Roland Harriman when his young, where he accompanied his father on the famous trip to Alaska in 1899. There was an entire PBS show on the E. H. Harriman.

There are also pictures of Roland Harriman and his older sister on the Library of Congress website that are quite unique.

Wilderness,
Are you sure Eddie Davis and Judy Davis-Wilson are not brother and sister. Kids of Olin.

Wilderness
Next time you email Judy Davis ask her if this sounds familiar.
Seems that nearly forty years ago  a young man from the Midwest was racing at Atlantic City. Working in the program dept was a charming young lady named Judy.
With much time on his hands the young man every morning would go to the program office to get a program. There he meet the young lady. Soon he asked her out for a date. She only laughed. The young man says "whats so dam funny". She says "aren't you gay".
"hell no what makes you think so".
"Well the program director is gay so we all thought you were his"
"No I come up here to get a program and get to know you better".

They soon became good friends.
