The first time I attended Northville was in 1969.
 
 That area at the head of the stretch was referred to as "the hill", however there was no actual hill there.
 
 It was a slight incline, however all pavement to an area that offered outside wagering, food, beer and a few park benches at the top of the stretch.

 When Northville had summer racing, they were the best seats in the house, as long as it wasn't raining.

... there is a hill "viewable" at the head of the stretch.  That's where the stables used to be correct?
