It's true. We got Running Gary continuing his streak of futility yesterday, and on Monday Gary the Neighbor kicks off his 2006 campaign, with a not-too-ambitious spotting in a $4,000 claimer going 1-1/16th. A modest 15-1 morning line.

That's Gary the Neighbor, coming to a TV screen near you, race 9 Monday, approximately 4:54 pm. Go Gary!

What a noble effort!   Trails the field all the way around at 37-1.   There was no claim entered for him.   maroon

A very disappointing effort by Gary. He will bounce back, though. He's due to run a good 3rd or 4th one of these days.

Kentucky Fried filed this email report:

"A slightly unruly Gary who didnt want to go in the gate ( who can blame him ) finally did without the jock on.........

bout 6th  7th down the backside.....

Not sure....but think a big last place     37-1"

Terry: Did you notice his workouts. He had 4 listed. I was impressed that he had 2 prior to this race. His 4th back was Febuary 5th 2005. Not very impressive and then they ran him 19 times in 2005 before they said I think it's time to work him again. And how many $4'000 claimers are barned at Hawthorne. 80%. And I must admit, that golden rail is something else. Round the turn for home and be even with 3 other pigs and you have that golden rail and you draw off and win by 10. They hug that rail so tight in the stretch I'm waiting for one of these pigs to break down throw jockey,He knocks down partition and impales himself on metal stick brace. Could my good friend OFF STRIDE please do a colorful illustration of that.
