I called to complain this morning and was told the omission of the Monday charts was an oversight.  I didn't get a good handle on whether or not they will run full charts for AP as I was told the section is down to 6 pages total from 8 and sometimes 10-12 pages.

With Hawks, Bulls both still alive in playoffs plus Cubs and Sox - doesn't leave a whole lot of room, but let your voice be heard.

The worst thing that could happen is for the charts or selections to disappear and for nobody to complain.

I think Arlington paid for the race results to be in the Northwest Herald in its sports section last year.  You will have to pay for them like an ad if you want them in.  With the Internet, those results in the newspapers aren't really needed.

Nor is the rest of the paper.

I sure do love the format now on the screen.   I can always see the odds even when they are showing the pictures of the winning jockeys.  It's great.  In fact, I like it better than Hollywood, Churchill and Keenland.

Churchill has too much going on with theirs now. I don't know if it's all the colors or what it is but everyone is in agreement out here in California.

Go Hawthorne!

Pave,
Peggy from 39th had the same observation. She was complaining that there should be more print media coverage for the sport of kings. She told me that in the 70's you couldn't read a sports page without extended coverage of horse racing. Ah, the good old days.
Paul from Moose's who is always optimistic doubted that there will be much coverage in the near future since there will be less than stellar stock at A.P. this summer besides his zillion dollar care.
Martay from Otto's didn't offer an opinion and remained silent on this topic.
Lon from the Pine thought the lack of coverage was a joke!
So as you can see from this random poll-charts may be a thing of the past.
Heidi may be lacking the key to the whole thing.
Anne thought the computer charts were right up your alley-not the Hearld. beer

Horse racing was that popular because it was the only way that you could legally gamble on outside of Vegas. Newspapers were that popular because it was the best way you could get the news. Those days are done.

Now we need to figure out how to keep horse racing alive in the multiple choice gambling environment. Newspapers are done. Maybe horse racing is too.

Casinos!

YOU have card rooms. Figure out how to play poker!

/Geez, that sounds depressing. Sitting indoors all day playing poker. Or worse, slots.

Oh not Pam, not the crochet hook. Everything I crochet looks like it was done by a spider on LSD.

Again, they've NEVER sold beer in the paddock.

You can buy one elsewhere and DRINK it in the paddock, however!!

They did, on the grandstand side there was a concession stand - complete with beer, they only open it now to give out the freebies.
