Now, now Buff, you promised at the end of the political thread that you weren't going to do this exact thing until you had good reason. I know that your a good man , political differences aside, that you would certainly realize those from 10 to the right through the left of the political continuum would love the regime change as a new beginning. The racial quality and going from a seemingly brain dead man to an obvious learned man just adds to your frustrations, but there will likely much larger ammo in the future than worrying about 4 days in and 170 mil on inauguration festivities. We all hope for the best, let's see how things are a year from now, not in the first 15 minutes.

Mo, the issue was the poll. The Obama Administration is already corrupt and his entire cabinet isnt even confirmed yet.

I already answered this. Did you not like my answer, or is this going to be the new Repuglican tactic for the next 4 years -- bleating the same (non-)question over and over, like a lost child wailing in the forest?

Anyway, here's the answer I gave on the previous page of this thread:

like i said earlier...keep drinking the commie koolaid....just sit back with your hand out and wait for your gov't to take care of you.......keep watching msnbc and watch them tell you how great barrack is and how he is getting so much done............why dont you liberals take the blinders off and look at your own party?  christopher dodd and barney frank were supposed to be overseeing the banking sector the past 2 years...dodd recieved a sweatheart mortgage and he and frank were huge recieptients of campaign cash from fanny and freddy...........

I know Mon and Clockerterry do not have the ability to answer the question but how do you have a poll asking people how a President is doing after just four days and how do you get 2/3's of the people they asked to say he is doing a great job?

I don't know how you have that poll, except somebody paid someone to take it. So I apologize, to you, on the pollster's behalf, and on behalf of the majority of respondents who clearly aren't invested in smearing the new guy or seeing him fail.

Does that help?

BTW, do you know the details of why the jihad returnees were released from
Gitmo under the Bush administration? I don't, and I'm not pointing fingers. It's a tough situation full of minefields (as the Bush administration learned via the Supreme Court).  I have no problem with the new guy giving himself a year on it. Mind you, the REAL lefties are pissed by THAT, demanding quicker dispenstion of justice and opening of the gates.

Obama, 1; "socialists" 0.

About as well as your treatment with the Boston Method.

You have me at a disadvantage. What is the "Boston Method"? Another something they only talk about on conservative cretin radio?

For my financial education and to save me the time of looking it up, are the heads of the aforementioned wall street firms that are taking the communist bailout money and blowing it on parties and baseball teams democrats? I was only wondering because it seems to me the very crooks we are all angry at for needing a bailout and blowing the money are also staunch republicans, which would not make the right look very good at a crucial time with our economy in ruins. I am personally firmly against the bailouts, but there are lots of men smarter than I (and the rest of us here at BTW) who apparently feel it's the right thing for the country as a whole. Add to that the fact that none of those men who make all that money to blow tax dollars pay the same percentage of tax on income that I do and maybe you'll understand why some of us despise them. It's as simple as saying they get tax breaks and huge perks for screwing the system and the government to make money for greedy shareholders, which screws every one of us who aren't in the top 1%.

I don't know, Buffalo Boob. How did all the ultra right Conservative Cretins know that Obama was a failure back in December?

Maybe this is the reason:

He's already fulfilled some of his campaign promises in only a few days!

I didn't vote for Obama and like Rush I don't want him to succeed either. As Rush pointed out how naive are you to think that those of us who strongly disagree with him want him to succeed? Did you want Bush to succeed and aren't you gloating over the things you think Bush botched? Being able to come out and say what you think is one of the great things of being an American. We are not forced to agree or pretend we agree.

The following article is just another reason I don't think Obama deserves to succeed.

American Legion Acknowledges That Obama Failed to Attend the Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball

Submitted by Julie on January 25, 2009 - 11:18am.

Barack Obama became the first U.S. president to skip out on the Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball since its inception in 1953. The event recognizes recipients of the military's highest award - the Medal of Honor - and as The Cleveland Leader previously reported, over the past 56 years and 14 inaugurations, no President has failed to appear at this event until now. Following the breaking of this news, there have been some misconceptions and erroneous information floating around. The American Legion, one of the main sponsors of the Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball, issued a statement making it clear once and for all that Barack Obama did not in fact attend the event.

Craig Roberts, Media Relations Manager for the American Legion, issued the following statement:

The American Legion, as it has on every inauguration evening since 1953, hosted the Salute to Heroes Inaugural Banquet & Ball on January 20th. The quadrennial event is co-sponsored with fourteen veterans service and military service organizations and honors recipients of the Medal of Honor. Forty-seven of these heroes attended this year’s event which was held in the Renaissance Washington DC Hotel.

President Obama was invited but did not attend. Vice-President Joe Biden did appear, however, and was very warmly received. The new President’s absence was understandable considering the unprecedented logistical challenges presented by the vastly increased number of visitors to this inauguration and the necessary attendant security measures. The American Legion, as an organization, does not feel offended or “snubbed.”

Obama did make appearances at 10 official balls on January 20, including the Neighborhood Ball, the Home State Ball for Illinois and Hawaii, the Commander-in-Chief Ball, the Youth Inaugural Ball, and the Home State Ball for Delaware and Pennsylvania. He and his wife Michelle finished up the evening with brief appearances at the Mid-Atlantic, Western, Midwest, Easter, and Southern Regional Balls.

The Commander-in-Chief Ball, as some have falsely insinuated, is not the same as the Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball. The Veteran's Ball, which had been cancelled after the event's organizer disappeared, is also not to be confused with the event honoring Medal of Honor recipients.

The Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball did take place at the Renaissance Washington DC Hotel on January 20, 2009. 47 Medal of Honor recipients were in attendance at the event. The President traditionally attends, as does the Vice President and other dignitaries. Vice President Joe Biden did attend, but President Obama did not.

Instead, Barack Obama chose to be in the company of Kanye West, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Kid Rock, Stevie Wonder, Mary. J. Blige, Usher, Faith Hill, Alicia Keys, Adam Levine, Shakira, will.i.am, Samuel L. Jackson, Sting, Mariah Carey, Leonardo DiCaprio, Sheryl Crow and Marc Anthony, amongst numerous other celebrities in attendance at the balls he did appear at.

Barack Obama made a monumental mistake in declining to attend the Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball in favor of rubbing shoulders with celebrities. While the American Legion states that they do not feel snubbed or offended, plenty of America's citizens and servicemen are.

I didn't vote for Obama either but your statement is beyond moronic  screwy.  Do you prefer that our country suffers?  Would seeing a terrible terrorist attack excite you?  Do you want more crime on the streets?  I guess you want America to go backwards, the financial markets continuing to tailspin - I take it, you would prefer to lose all of your money & watch our country & our future fall down just to say "told ya so".   screwy screwy screwy

I said it several times already - I hope that I was dead wrong.  Unquestionably, I will not agree with everything that this administration does (as I disagreed with most things the previous administration did) but you damn better believe that I am cheering for the best for our nation.

Good point. I've always wished and hoped for the best for any new President, even if I didn't vote for him. I might have wished some of his proposed policies or programs do not come to fruition, but to hope a President is an abject failure is foolish and selfish. The entire nation suffers when a President is a failure.

Because they're far smarter than the general public, that's how. They know they are, because they listen to cretin radio and parrot everything it says, including how dumb everyone else is. They can call a President-elect a failure before he even takes office and that's O.K., but if normal people approve his work 4 days after he's actually been in office, that's totally unfathomable. Those other people are so stupid.

I don't know about the 2/3'rds voter approval rating, though it is probably true. I am sure we all had jobs and we earned higher ratings than that in our first week of work.

President Obama apparently is also loved abroad.  Listen to these kind words of praise..........

A profound racism exists in the U.S., It's a miracle that the Democratic candidate has not suffered the fate of other Americans who dreamed of equality and justice like Malcolm X and Martin Luther King jr."

"(Obama) has a habit of looking at his adversary with serenity and laughing at the verbal gaffes of an opponent who looks blankly into space."

The "brutal measures" the U.S. is adopting during "this capitalist crisis," because these "will provoke more inflation, more devaluation and more loss of markets." Thus a McCain victory would have been economically disastrous, because, "he was one of the worst students ever at West Point and knew nothing about mathematics, and knows nothing about economic complications."

and a little sidebar comment about Jese Jackson

"He (Jesse Jackson) is a great personality, "a brilliant man with a great talent, capable of communicating with people, very persuasive, reliable, honest. Jackson's main characteristic is honesty. He is sincere and there is not a single bit of demagoguery in his conversations."

That guy's a piker. Instead of fighting his wars to advance his causes personally, he needs to get himself a whole big air force, navy, and army to blow the hell out of other countries and force "regime change" and new forms of government on them, whether they want it or not.

To Jesse Jackson the greatest shakedown artist ever to walk the face of the earth.

McCain didn't go to West Point (Army) he went to the Naval Academy in Annapolis Maryland.
