60 minutes did a piece tonight on the cheating going on at online poker sites.
Insiders got away with 20 million and maybe much more.
As usual they got caught by being to greedy. The report implied there may be many more scams that have not been uncovered.

One online poker site that "60 Minutes" identified -- Absolute Poker -- is said to have cheated online poker players out of hundreds of thousands of dollars. It was alleged that a former employee of Absolute Poker hacked into the computer security code and was able to see all the cards other players were holding and then bet against them accordingly. Talk about having an edge!!

The reason no one can do anything against Absolute Poker is because their business offices are located in Costa Rica and their computer servers are housed on an Indian reservation in Canada. And like their Native American brethren in the U.S., those living on reservations in Canada have the same kind of legal agreement with that government that allows them to operate independently of any oversight or regulation by Canadian authorities.

Bottom line, I'd think twice before I ever gambled with Absolute Poker!

Well, my experience with poker stars made me believe that the fix was in. I did VERY well for the first 2 weeks until I asked to pull money out.....then the bad beats were off the charts. This doesn't surprise me nor did I truly believe that the pro's sponsored by any particular site didn't have "perks" to playing with schmoes like me to win 80% of the time.

What a coincidence !I had never played live until they put " $5.00 " in my account to try and suck me in.I ran the 5 up to about 170 and then started looking at how you can take money out and the bad beats started.

Can't believe how many times I was best heads up when all in before the flop.I would have top pair and the other guy would draw 4 cards to make an inside straight or ignorant flush.
