It was reported that after Mike McDevitt's great success at the Lexington
Trots, he received a cablegram from his cousins in Ireland reading:

"Dear Mike-if there is nothing more left for you to do in America, engage
immediate passage for the next sailing of the Celtic and come back and free

The cablegram was sent collect.

McDevitt won the 1910 Transylvania with Joan and the Ky Futurity with Grace
(whipping Colorado E., Emily Ellen and Native Belle).
