My point is it was just as moronic of me to compare Saturday's 11,291 to some average daily figure at Arlington as it was for you to compare the Wednesday and Thursday numbers. My point is it means nothing to compare one day's attendance with the average over a whole season, which you should have figured out after Wednesday, but apparently didn't.

A small update on this important debate:

Average attendance at Santa Anita before this weekend was 8,634. On Saturday, SA got 49,089 people through the doors for the Big Cap card.

By way of comparision, AP's average attendance last season was 7,607, and on its biggest day drew 28,312.

The jury is still out. It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings. Never say die. It's going to be a nail-biter.
