With Keno pulled off the table for now what is the next ploy by the state and racetrack owners? Could it be paramutual wagering on Nascar and Indy car racing?

Ponyboy, I am currently an alderman with a future run for the state senate 50th district. I want to fullfill my term as much as possible so there is always representation for my wards residents. Thanks Joe

Nomar, This was a topic to get the people to THINK, It is not that far out there as you might think. Nascars popularity is at an all time high Racetracks owners greed is at an all time high also. Keno and slots were a pipe dream thaught up by the race track owners and they spent a lot of money trying to buy the legislature to get it done, so I am sure they could go to the nascar community with a sales pitch!

The topic was a metaphore for what the race track owners will dream up next. I am glad you enjoyed the topic but name calling just dont cut it! Everyone who knows me knows what I stand for there is nothing to hide. I am proud that my horses race clean, and in politics I can stand by my record! We can meet and have a discussion on politics or the race industry any time just drop me a line!

You are correct except that was my father who received those positives, I have never had as much as a bute overage. And yes I did make it as a trainer not to the caliber as some but I couldnt afford top dollar colts so I did what I could with cheap horses!

A recurring theme on this board seem to be that the guys who post here never had a positive but their close relatives did. And the same guys complain about the Tetricks racing against each other.
Dave and Dum-Dum can race against each otherevery day. Dwight and Stan were cool. I've seen full fields of Finns down in Newton. Ledford has driven against Seldon this Meadowlands meet. But G_d forbid Timmy and his dad have a couple that fit the same condition!

Sportmans Park was retooled for NASCAR and look what happened to that nice place, I don't think that in this part of the country there are enough NASCAR fans or Sportsmans would still be open

Sportsmans Park was re tooled for open wheel Indy Racing league. League collapsed no races for Chicago Motor Speedway.

Actually, I believe it was Ganassi/CART. One of the open wheel leauges. Point was not NASCAR thats healthy in Joliet. Definately Ganassi. He ran out with out paying major bills left Sportsman owners in a bad way.

What did they use the $750,000.00 grant from the state for? To line the pockets of the Bidwills and Ed Duffy?

What did they use the $750,000.00 grant from the state for? To line the pockets of the Bidwills and Ed Duffy? No body knows. Ganassi ran out on many $ millions of un honored obligation acording to Sportsmans. $750.000 is drop in the bucket to that.
