Joe Drape put together a list of the 500 worst named horses.

Joe Drape would be a great name for someone in the home decorating business.  Or perhaps for the guy who comes out and installs the new window treatments.

My God, I do love the internet so.

Youtube has a video featuring Hoof Hearted:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NPKuyDWt4k&feature=related

I read the caller who was getting such a lot of you know what for calling Skyhoofhearted, finally one day used his number instead.  He just couldn't take anymore.  So funny.

Iams Bound! We saw him run at Prairie Meadows.

My candidate for worst name is Ock Dubistudine. Where did that come from?

I love the New York Times' racing blog.

"Ach, du bist zu dein", maybe? I think that might mean "You are only for yourself" in German.

Or maybe "Ach, du bist TU dein" which might mean "You do it to yourself"!!!! Oops!

Remember the horse Kokinaras? Last race was in March of 2004. I think Ida Spagnola was the last one to have him, a gelding, by the way.

"Coke-in-our- censor"

OMG -- that's funny. I used to see that name in the program all the time and never made the connection.

I always interpreted the pronunciation of the Kok part a bit differently than "Coke", and there might have been some wiggle room for the "ar", too.

Once I figured it out, I wondered how any announcer could keep on pronouncing it any differently in the heat of battle.

I completely missed that, too. The horse was never a contender in races I handicapped, that's my only excuse!
