If you were a Canadian citizen and have a homebred with a chance to win your country's triple crown, you wouldn't be excited about it? Instead you'd rather try to take on a monster of a horse in the 2nd leg of the American triple crown and potentially ruin your horse's undefeated record, not to mention his spirit?

So Gayego is in.

Anyone think he has a chance coming off that horrible trip in Kentucky?

From DRF:

The field, from the rail out, is Macho Again (Julien Leparoux the rider), Tres Borrachos (Tyler Baze), Icabad Crane (Jeremy Rose), Yankee Bravo (Alex Solis), Behindatthebar (David Flores), Racecar Rhapsody (Robby Albarado), Big Brown (Kent Desormeaux), Macho Again (Jamie Theriot), Stevil (John Velazquez), Riley Tucker (Edgar Prado), Giant Moon (Ramon Dominguez), Gayego (Smith), and Hey Byrn (Chuck Lopez).

Looks like Macho Again is going to be tough, considering there's two of him in this race. I bet one is a rabbit.

Yeah, but he has TWO riders, so maybe that evens it out!

Yes, insert Kentucky Bear in the 2nd Macho again and you have it.

Reade Baker is doing his best Dutrow imitation, awful cocky for a guy who's horse has been beat in his last two:

Reade Baker (trainer, KENTUCKY BEAR, PP #8, 15-1) – “I love it. It’s outside Big Brown. It couldn’t be better. He’s beatable. He beat all those horses at Churchill Downs, but he didn’t beat us.”

Speaking of "cocky" I guess Reade didn't have a bird show to go to this weekend, this is my favorite part of his web site:

http://www.readebaker.com/poultry.shtml

As I said before I do like his horse, but it will take a huge effort to beat BB.
