How about Aubrey Petty for the first one.

I am just an old "Hoss" trainer, that has been raced hard and put away wet.

John Simpson, Jr. is correct.

The horse was get of a famous dam.

Other two drivers incorrect.

I was looking for Song Cycle.
Unfortunately, I have a solitary image of the horse and Aubrey is not in the bike:

The only one I remember with Song Cycle was Billy Shutter
There is another Frisco Lad That Petty raced. The first year I raced at Washington Park I was Stabled next to The Gentleman from Tenn.  and I am sure his FFA trotter was Frisco Lad.
But then again that was a long time ago.

looking,
I'm sure your recollection is correct.

It's just that my data (as extensive as it is) has large voids.

Song Cycle was a pacer. Both Shuter and Petty drove him.Petty had a nice trotter named Black Label, but not Free For All material.

I seem to remember that the owner(Vornado Stable-a guy named Zimmerman) had a disagreement with Shuter and the guy took the horse and gave him(and a couple of others)to Petty. A very tough race horse.
