claiming horses?

What do you all think as far as claiming a horse you once had back.  Even if it means giving more for the horse than you lost it for???

if ya like the horse claim it back horses are hard to replace anymore . I recently gave 2000  more for one .  the horse made us 20 +  last year not gonna throw that away over trying to keep someone else from making a profit .

I always preferred waiting and claiming them back for less.

 of corse less is good but if ya like the horse and you know there is nothing wrong then dont wait until there is  that might be why you get it back for less.  just MO

If you want to claim him back, you must have had success with him.  Careful now, you may not be that lucky "chasing" him.  Sort of like buying back a stock at a higher price.  It has to be in your makeup to be able to live with that decision if you get clobbered the 2nd time around.  Usually doesn't work out.

(I hope you're not Nick Clegg thinking of claiming back Western Leader. )

I agree, particularly at tracks with big purses like the Meadowlands or Dover. the couple of thousand more you might spend on taking the horse back can easily be recaptured in one start.

You know, I do agree with that - but only at the more lucrative tracks.  I actually assumed he was referring to Chicago but you know what happens when you assume...
